Regarding the experiments for traveling to a Parallel World, for now, Vegapunk is only in the preparation stage, and it will take at least another year or two before they can be fully implemented.
And after Vegapunk produced solid evidence of world-traveling, Uchiha Obito became Vegapunk's loyal subordinate in order to change the tragedies of the past.
Vegapunk installed a small portion of Nanomachines inside his brain, which could receive various signals collected by his brain, serving as a means of control; Uchiha Obito accepted this readily.
This way, Vegapunk could freely browse through everything Uchiha Obito saw and perceived, while also being able to contact him directly; in extreme circumstances, he could even blow up Uchiha Obito's brain.
Of course, Uchiha Obito didn't care much about this, just as he had initially accepted Uchiha Madara's restriction on his heart; however, the heart restriction had been removed when Vegapunk excised those White Zetsu and restored him to his original state, whereas Vegapunk's Nanomachines were not so easily removed.
There was one thing Vegapunk never told Uchiha Obito: the Nanomachines weren't just lurking in his brain; they had replaced a part of it—in other words, the Nanomachines had replaced a portion of his brain tissue through a process of consumption.
Even if Uchiha Obito found a way to expel the Nanomachines, he would at least end up in a vegetative state, or if he was unlucky, he would simply kick the bucket.
Within the Ninja system, there are many types of marvelous Ninjutsu, not to mention a powerful move like Izanagi; plus, Uchiha Obito's own mental wiring wasn't quite normal and he was easily deceived, so Vegapunk naturally had to take precautions.
If Uchiha Obito really used a Ninjutsu like Izanagi to destroy the Nanomachines, he would instantly die or become a vegetable due to the loss of brain function.
However, in other aspects, Vegapunk did not mistreat Uchiha Obito; that White Zetsu, Tobi, was turned into materials to directly modify Uchiha Obito's bloodline constitution, giving him the Wood Release Bloodline Limit and a degraded version of the Sage Body, and his original Kamui Sharingan was returned to him with its original ocular power restored.
Vegapunk even gave him a Sage Cursed Seal, though due to insufficient resources, it was also a degraded version, essentially an extension of Orochimaru's cursed seal research; while a permanent Sage Mode was hopeless, spending a few seconds to prepare during battle to enter Sage Mode for thirty minutes was not a problem.
Previously, because Uchiha Obito's body was just a patchwork, he could only exert eighty percent of his full combat potential; of course, the level of Wood Release and the Kamui Mangekyo themselves was high enough, and though they couldn't merge into the Power of All Creation, they complemented each other's weaknesses, so even with eighty percent combat power, Uchiha Obito was definitely not weak.
But now, having completely mastered all his own power and possessing Sage Mode, Uchiha Obito is undoubtedly much stronger than before, not even inferior to Uzumaki Nagato; if he could find his other Mangekyo, his strength would likely approach that of a Beyond Kage-level Ninja.
