Finally, it was Ivan's turn. Under the gaze of his classmates and teacher, Ivan stepped into the center of the training ground after the last student came out.
Everyone was looking forward to how Ivan would perform. Until now, his performance had been the best amongst everyone in the class.
Would he still be able to outperform them when faced with three beast dummies? After all, his Paladin class was a defensive ability, how was he going to destroy them when he was busy defending?
Unaware of their thoughts, Ivan stood in the middle of the training room, waiting for the dummies to come back to life.
It didn't take long and the three dummies were soon facing him, with little distance between them and Ivan.
The next moment, the three dummies charged at Ivan. Their metal mouths opened as they let out very beast-like roars.
Ivan smiled slightly at the sight of the three dummies, not a single hint of nervousness could be seen on his face as a one-meter-long sword appeared in his right hand. This was the sword that his parents had gifted him, its sharpness was better than the one Ivan could summon using his ability.
He didn't summon his shield!
Teacher May frowned slightly when she saw this, she didn't say anything and just watched.
The students also reacted, some even calling out for Ivan to summon his shield quickly.
Ignoring everyone, Ivan focused on the incoming dummies.
The first one quickly reached him and swiped at him with its metal claws. Ivan calmly stepped to the side, allowing the attack of the dummy to miss him completely. A gust of wind generated by the attack caused his golden hair to flutter, painting a dashing pose for the female students.
Ivan didn't attack back after dodging the first attack, the other two dummies had arrived and were already upon him.
His legs moved as his body almost blurred out of sight, Ivan gracefully stepped from side to side with his sword pointed at the ground and his other hand behind his waist.
His body felt so light that his movements were almost generating afterimages. The students watched in shock, was this how a student was supposed to move?!
'The gravity chamber is truly a great thing, now that I can endure a level 5 increase in gravity, my body almost feels like a feather outside it.' Ivan thought to himself as he suddenly jumped into the air and landed several meters away from the dummies.
The three of them turned in his direction and charged at him again.
This time, Ivan didn't wait for them to come to him. He suddenly shot towards them with a speed so great that he felt like he was teleporting short distances.
He arrived in front of the first dummy and a sword light flashed.
Thud!
The head of the dummy fell off while its body crashed into the ground.
Gasps resounded as the students took in cold breaths upon seeing this. Before they could recover, Ivan was already onto the other two dummies.
His figure flashed past them in a fluid motion while his sword moved like a dancing light. He arrived behind them and immediately came to a stop, letting his sword disappear back to his mana core. At the same time, the heads of the remaining two dummies rolled over and their bodies crashed down.
Thud!
The training room was silent for a moment as the students stared in front of them with disbelieving looks. Even May had not expected such a performance.
All three dummies were defeated and Ivan had done so with great ease too!
"Mm, you can come out." Teacher May said after a while and called on the next student to go in. Only after hearing their teacher's voice did the rest of the students recover from their shock.
"That was insane!"
"He's so handsome,"
"Go Ivan!"
"Tks, just a showoff."
"If a tank is moving like that, will he even bother defending anyone?"
"It must be that sword, he didn't form it with his mana. I bet his family got it for him with a lot of money,"
"So what? You're just jealous!"
The students erupted into discussions. The majority of students who were cheering Ivan were his female classmates while some of the boys were literally burning with jealousy.
They wished they could move like Ivan.
After Ivan came out, the boys who were talking badly about him immediately shut up and didn't dare to look at him. They could say whatever they liked but not to his face, especially not after seeing what he could do.
Ivan had heard some of the things they said but he didn't really care, he went back to silently watching the rest of the students take their assessment. After Ivan, nobody else was able to perform as well as the girl with the huge hammer. Even Carter with his twin swords was only able to take out one of the dummies. Soon, everyone was done and it was time to leave.
Instead of leaving, Ivan approached Teacher May and asked if he could use the training room a bit more before going back. She replied that although they now had access to it, they still had to wait until the ranking was out, which was next week.
For now, she advised him to go back and prepare for the squad assessment tomorrow.
There was a blue dungeon at the back of the academy, the squad assessment was going to take place inside it and students could just go there directly instead of going to their classrooms first.
Ivan nodded and then left. Now left alone, May took out the paper in which she had recorded the performance of each student. She didn't know why but the members of the academy's board had suddenly informed her to update them on Ivan's progress during the assessment.
May left the place, preparing to send a report of Ivan's physical assessment to those oldies.
…
The next day.
At the back of the academy, a tear in space that looked like the frozen surface of a blue sea could be seen. It was the size of a huge gate, easily reaching seven meters tall.
This was the blue dungeon that the academy owned. This dungeon had been here for a long and the academy had actually been built in this location because of it.
A massive platform that was several hundred meters wide surrounded the dungeon and over fifty teachers could be seen standing on one side of the platform.
Standing with the teachers were the Dean, Vice Dean, and the academy board members. Even though they were not all Mages, they all wore long robes and released dignified auras.
"The students should be arriving anytime now, don't you think?" An elderly lady asked with a soft smile. She was the one who had discovered Ivan's assessment paper last time and was a board member.
"Mm, it's their first dungeon activity. They must be nervous and excited, I remember I couldn't sleep properly when I faced the same thing back then." Someone replied with a distant laughter.
The other laughed as well. The teachers all stared at this group of seniors in silence, wondering why they had come out. After all, they never appeared for almost anything concerning first-year students!
Teacher May glanced at the Dean and the other. It couldn't be that they were here because of Ivan, right?
"Ha, here they come!"
