Chapter 49 - chapter 49: The Path of the Earth

The sun had only begun to rise when Master Kiran led his disciples to a quiet terrace on the far side of the valley.

Unlike the training grounds and forge, this place was peaceful.

Rows of cultivated soil stretched across the hillside.

Medicinal herbs swayed gently in the morning breeze.

A narrow stream carried crystal-clear water through the fields.

The air was rich with life.

Meera inhaled deeply.

"There's so much spiritual energy here."

Master Kiran nodded.

"Life attracts life.

He turned to the group.

"Yesterday, you learned the value of " blacksmithing.

"Today, you will learn the importance of those who cultivate the earth."

Rohan looked around the terraces.

"You mean farming?"

Master Kiran smiled faintly.

"Yes."

He knelt and picked up a handful of soil.

"This soil feeds plants."

"Plants feed animals and people."

"Medicinal herbs heal wounds and illnesses."

"Rare ingredients support alchemy and cultivation."

He let the soil fall between his fingers.

"Without those who understand the land, no civilization can endure."

The disciples listened intently.

Even Arun, who usually focused only on combat, showed genuine interest.

Master Kiran turned to Meera.

"You possess excellent perception, patience, and attention to detail."

He gestured toward the medicinal garden.

"These qualities are ideal for studying life-oriented professions."

Meera blinked in surprise.

"You believe I'm suited for this path?"

Master Kiran nodded.

"You could become a healer."

"An alchemist."

"Or a plant-based Magician."

Each possibility caused Meera's eyes to brighten.

Master Kiran led Meera to the first garden bed.

"This is Silverleaf."

A small herb with pale green leaves shimmered faintly.

"It accelerates recovery and reduces inflammation."

He moved to another plant.

"This is Crimson Root."

Its deep red stem pulsed with subtle energy.

"It restores blood and vitality."

One by one, he introduced more herbs.

Moonflower: Calms the mind and stabilizes spiritual energy

Stone Moss: Supports bone healing.

Sungrass: Enhances natural recovery.

Frost Mint: Reduces fever and toxins.

Meera listened with complete concentration.

She carefully memorized every appearance, property, and use.

Master Kiran stopped beside a young sapling.

"Plants are cultivators too."

The disciples stared.

He continued.

"They absorb sunlight, water, minerals, and spiritual energy.

"They grow patiently."

"They adapt to their environment."

"Some live for centuries."

He touched the sapling gently.

"Those who study plants learn the principles of balance and gradual growth."

Meera lowered her eyes in thought.

The analogy resonated deeply with her.

Master Kiran outlined the three primary paths available to Meera.

Healer

Uses knowledge of anatomy, herbs, and spiritual energy to restore health.

Alchemist

Refines medicinal ingredients into pills, salves, and elixirs.

Plant-Based Magician

Controls vines, spores, and life energy to support allies and restrain enemies.

"Each path requires compassion, patience, and precision," Master Kiran said.

Meera asked softly, "Must I choose only one?"

Master Kiran smiled.

"Not necessarily."

"The greatest masters often understand all three."

Master Kiran handed Meera a woven basket.

"Your task is to identify and harvest five herbs without damaging them."

Meera entered the garden with careful steps.

She examined each plant closely.

She checked leaf shape, scent, and energy signature.

By midday, she returned with the correct specimens.

Master Kiran inspected them and nodded approvingly.

"Excellent."

"You observed before acting."

"That is the foundation of all healing arts."

As the lesson continued, Master Kiran's tone became serious.

"A healer bears great responsibility."

He looked directly at Meera.

"Your knowledge can save lives."

"But it can also be abused."

He held up a small herb.

"In the right dosage, this is medicine."

"In the wrong dosage, it becomes poison."

Meera nodded solemnly.

"I understand."

Master Kiran's gaze softened.

"Then remember this."

"Compassion must guide knowledge."

As evening approached, Meera sat beside the stream, turning a Silverleaf between her fingers.

She had always admired combat ability.

But now she understood that preserving life was equally important.

When Master Kiran approached, she stood and bowed.

"Master, I want to walk this path."

He nodded.

"Then study the earth carefully."

"It contains more wisdom than most people realize."
