Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Nonsense

"Waiting for pudding." Harry and Ron didn't speak; only Hermione answered.

Lavender looked at them, puzzled.

"I've never seen you guys eat pudding this much before, have I?"

Just as she spoke, various desserts suddenly appeared on the dining table.

And in front of the three of them, a yellow, mango-flavoured-looking pudding appeared.

The three of them stared at the pudding in front of them, completely stunned.

"You guessed right, Hermione!" Ron stood up from his chair excitedly and shouted.

His sudden shout startled the Gryffindors eating nearby, and even the students at the Slytherin table were disturbed. Malfoy, with his bandaged arm in a sling, sneered.

"Did you discover that a Dementor has come in, you stinking Weasley?"

The Slytherin students burst into laughter.

But Ron, Harry, and Hermione didn't care about the mockery at all. They were staring intently at the cup of pudding in front of them, as if they were looking at some rare treasure.

"They're crazy, those three are crazy," Parvati muttered, moving her chair aside, not wanting to get caught in any collateral damage.

Harry lifted the glass filled with mango pudding, then, with a trembling hand, used a spoon to scoop some out and tasted it.

"It's pudding!"

Hearing his confirmation, Ron and Hermione slumped back into their chairs.

"At the very least, we can determine one thing now: when Professor Cavendish knows he is being tested for his jinx, the jinx will fail!"

Hermione said rigorously.

"Whether or not there would be pudding for dessert at lunch was originally an ambiguous matter. Under normal circumstances, if the Professor said we could have pudding at lunch, there shouldn't have been any."

"Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that when the Professor said that, the pudding was already prepared in the kitchen, and having pudding for lunch had already become a fixed fact that even the Professor's jinx could not change. There is such a small possibility."

Although this possibility was small, it could not be ruled out.

The main event should be the Charms class and the weather change in the afternoon.

After leaving the Great Hall, Harry and Ron rarely lingered in the Common Room, but instead arrived at the Charms classroom nearly an hour early with Hermione.

They found a seat by the window and kept looking at the sky outside.

The weather, which had been a bit gloomy in the morning, had now completely cleared up. The blinding sun hung high, clearly a beautiful sunny day.

But what Sherlock said in the morning was, "It should be sunny in the afternoon."

It was not yet one o'clock in the afternoon, and there were still several hours left before the entire afternoon was over, so Harry and the others did not jump to conclusions too early.

Sitting idly in the Charms classroom like this, they finally waited until class time.

Professor Flitwick directed them to open their textbooks, The Standard Book of Spells: Grade 3, and find the page for the Mending Charm.

"The Mending Charm is a spell very commonly used by Wizards in daily life. It can repair items that are damaged and have no magical properties or only a small amount of magical properties, restoring them to their intact state."

"This spell is actually not difficult. Some students may have already mastered it in their first or second year, but now we are beginning to study it formally."

"The incantation for the Mending Charm is—Reparo. Remember, the key point of the pronunciation of this incantation is..."

The Mending Charm is indeed a very simple spell. Not only had Hermione mastered it in her first year, but even Harry and Ron had learned it at the beginning of their second year.

When Ron's wand broke last semester, he tried to use this spell to fix it, but clearly, a wand cannot be repaired with this spell, and in the end, he didn't succeed.

Harry and the others knew it, but they could be certain that Seamus definitely hadn't learned it.

Because just five days ago, he accidentally broke his teacup, and it was Ron who cast the spell to help him fix it.

So when Professor Flitwick finished explaining the techniques of the Mending Charm and let the students practice on their own, the three of them didn't move, but stared straight at Seamus who was sitting in front of them.

Their gaze was too direct, and Seamus naturally noticed it.

He felt a chill down his back and couldn't help but turn his head to look at the three of them.

"Why are you staring at me?"

Harry waved his hand.

"Nothing, we just suddenly felt that you're looking pretty good today, Seamus."

Seamus believed what he said, and excitedly brushed his fringe from his forehead.

"Really? You also noticed that I specifically used some Madam Selwyn skincare cream today?"

Harry had no interest in what brand of skincare cream he used; he just wanted to know if Seamus would cause anything to explode in this class.

"Yes, you look very dashing and handsome today, Seamus. In all of Hogwarts, besides Professor Cavendish, you are the most handsome. So hurry up. Since you're in such a good state, you'll definitely be able to use the Mending Charm Professor Flitwick taught as soon as you try."

Seamus's face turned red from his praise.

"Oh, you're exaggerating, Harry, but I do feel that my state is very good."

As he spoke, he raised his wand and aimed it at the piece of parchment on the table that had been torn in two.

Watching his actions, Harry, Ron, and Hermione all held their breath; they appeared even more nervous than Seamus himself.

Under their gaze, Seamus waved his wand according to the method Professor Flitwick had just taught, and at the same time chanted the spell.

"Reparo!"

A faint white light flashed at the tip of the wand, and the spell instantly took effect, sticking the torn piece of parchment back together, flawless, as if it had never been torn.

"As expected! My state today is simply too good!" Seamus raised his head proudly. "From the moment I stepped into this classroom, I had a feeling that no matter what spell Professor Flitwick teaches us today, I will be able to learn it."

The three of them didn't speak; they were staring with wide eyes at the repaired parchment, as if they were looking at some incredible miracle.

At this moment, Professor Flitwick happened to walk by Seamus. Seeing his perfect performance earlier, he praised him.

"Very excellent, Mr. Finnigan. This is the first time I've taught a new spell and haven't seen you blow up your desk."

"Everything before was an accident; today is my normal performance, Professor," Seamus said, not at all modest.

Normal performance, my foot.

This phrase appeared in Harry and the others' minds simultaneously.

Successfully using a spell on the first try like this could never be Seamus's normal performance.

Except for himself, who always refused to admit it, all the other Gryffindor students knew that when learning new spells or brewing Potions, one must stay far away from Seamus.

Just like now.

In this class, except for Harry and the others sitting behind Seamus, Seamus didn't even have a seatmate.

"Doesn't this further confirm Hermione's guess?" Ron said with a trembling voice.

Hermione's lips were pressed white. She stared at Seamus, who was triumphantly tearing the parchment again and repeatedly using the Mending Charm to verify his results, and said in a low voice:

"Perhaps we can proactively increase the difficulty a little."

As she spoke, she moved forward and sat next to Seamus. Harry and Ron looked at her actions in surprise.

Seamus was also very surprised; he looked at Hermione and asked:

"Is something the matter, Hermione?"

Hermione stared at him.

"I heard you say just now that you feel your state in this class is excellent?"

Seamus shrugged. "My performance is plain for all to see."

"Then, if I teach you another spell now, are you confident you can learn it immediately and cast it?" Hermione said, blinking.

Harry and Ron heard what Hermione was trying to do at this moment. They looked at Hermione in utter shock, admiring her courage and boldness.

If Seamus caused an explosion while using some spell he hadn't learned, Hermione would be the first to suffer.

Seamus felt that he also understood what Hermione was trying to do.

After all, he was indeed charming today; even Hermione, who usually only hung out with Harry and Ron, couldn't resist.(TN: Bud, you are 13 years old.)

Furthermore, there was one thing Seamus hadn't spoken about just now: the moment he walked into the Charms classroom, he really felt his state was excellent, never had it been so perfect.

Therefore, he didn't hesitate at all and decisively agreed.

"Of course."

Hermione's repertoire of spells far exceeded that of a normal third-year student. Right off the bat, she threw a spell at Seamus that was very difficult to learn.

"The Bubble-Head Charm, a spell that allows Wizards to move underwater. It can form a bubble-like protection above a person's neck, keeping air inside it."(TN: Teach him the Patronus and even harder spells.)

She guided Seamus through the spell, and Seamus actually dared to learn it.

And after listening to Hermione's explanation, he excitedly prepared to make his first attempt.

Harry and Ron immediately leaned back, keeping their distance, and incidentally pulled Hermione back as well.

However, the explosion they imagined did not happen. Seamus perfectly replicated Hermione's demonstration. He successfully used this spell, which is usually only learned in the fifth year, on his first try, forming a bubble wrapping air above his neck.

Harry and Ron stared, dumbfounded, at Seamus, who was smugly sitting in his seat, and Hermione's gaze also became dazed.

Seamus in this class seemed to have received some powerful blessing. Even the most difficult spells he had a chance of using successfully, and even if he couldn't, it would absolutely not explode like before.

Everything had changed, just like on that road in France.

Professor Cavendish not only lost his jinx, but he had also turned into a genie.
