Chapter 212 - Chapter 10: Aura Pool

As long as aura is shaped into a sharp blade, generally speaking, it can cut through most materials like butter.

After all, to be precise, shaping aura into a sharp blade was the domain of Transmutation. It was a result that required active development by Nen users. The Rock-Paper-Scissors ability developed by Gon, the protagonist in the manga, leaned toward Transmutation. "Scissors" was the purest aura blade.

However, Liam's Yin Nen Sword slashed through the unconscious patient on the hospital bed but didn't cut the skinny body in half. The aura blade densely packed with divine script on its surface could be vaguely seen. Thin as a cicada's wing and invisible to the naked eye. It sliced through the opponent's body like a phantom, cutting through the green skull-shaped Nen parasitizing the opponent's body.

The skull's aura—part of it—was absorbed by the Yin Nen Sword that had chopped through it.

This small amount of aura was transformed into pure "attributeless" aura through the divine script on the Yin Nen Sword and fed back to Liam who was holding the sword.

And because Liam was in perfect condition at the moment—no losses, no need to recuperate—the aura swirled around him, just like a glass full of water shaking slightly. It wasn't spilled and wasted, but turned around again and returned to the sword body, as if stored in the Yin Nen Sword.

Looking at the densely packed divine characters on the thin aura blade, the strokes of one divine character became much clearer. Liam understood.

Damn, it even has a charger function.

No, this should be called "charging up"?

Wonder how much aura this good baby needs to eat to be full, and how many divine characters it can light up in total.

As for the fact that this Yin Nen Sword could only cut aura but couldn't cut the human body or any actual material, Liam had known for a long time.

This was normal. After all, this thing wasn't an ability he'd developed himself. Hadn't really mastered it. Just stored it in his Nen—if this thing could cut the human body, then the first person to be stabbed by it "white blade goes in, red blade comes out" should be himself when trying to "receive" it into his body.

As a Nen ability picked up for free:

1. it could weaken the enemy's aura in battle and feed back to himself;

2. it could store aura in peacetime and use it as a special "aura pool"; and...

It could also exorcise Nen like this!

Liam swung the sword several times in succession. The aura blade of the Yin Nen Sword accurately cut through the green skull parasitizing the patient's body every time, draining away the residual aura from the skull bit by bit. Meanwhile, the ethereal divine characters on the Yin Nen Sword's body slowly and finally lit up one.

"Is it almost clean?" Liam raised his sword to observe.

The scrawny guy on the hospital bed, who'd seemed to be dying at any moment, was breathing much harder now. You could actually see his chest rising and falling visibly. Several family members gathered around the end of the bed and the wall of the room were excited. Some covered their mouths. Some bit the backs of their hands fiercely. Not daring to make noise.

Shizuku came closer to the hospital bed. Her eyes behind the mask focused her Nen. She looked at the man who'd been slashed thirty-two times by Liam. The latter's skinny chest had originally had a green skull like a parasitic worm, but now it had disappeared. At least with Shizuku's Gyo, no residue could be seen.

"Okay, then let's withdraw." Liam pretended to do a sword dance, then remembered that no one present except Shizuku could see the Yin Nen Sword in his hand.

"Ahem!" The man on the hospital bed coughed twice and slowly opened his eyes.

Before the others gathered around excitedly, Liam and Shizuku had already escaped from the ward.

He was impatient to be thanked because he felt he wasn't really a good person.

"Although it's true this method can be used to exorcise Nen, it seems a bit too troublesome and not very efficient."

After leaving the hospital, Liam looked at the Yin Nen Sword in his hand. "I can only wear away the 'foreign Nen' bit by bit without being disturbed."

Shizuku looked at one of the divine characters that was obviously brighter on the sword. Asked curiously, "How much aura did you store after eating that green skull?"

Liam considered. "One rune. I estimate... about 1,000 aura? According to the size of this sword, it's more than enough to fill in about twenty runes. In other words, conservatively estimated, the 'aura pool' can at least store more than 20,000 aura in case of emergency."

Shizuku looked back at the hospital building. Asked curiously, "Has the exorcism really been successful?"

Liam couldn't help but be surprised when he heard this. After thinking carefully, he turned around.

Just because it seemed the parasitic residual Nen on that person was gone didn't mean he'd really exorcised the Nen.

Perhaps the skull-headed remnant sensed danger, cut off its tail to survive, and hid deep inside the man's body.

Maybe there were still some residues of the skull remnant. It could still recover bit by bit.

Because the Nen transformed after being swallowed by the Yin Nen Sword was too "pure," Liam couldn't tell whether the aura he'd chopped off was all the aura of the skull's residual Nen.

If you can't accurately kill the Nen and eliminate the roots, then your move can't be called exorcism.

Whether Nen could be exorcised was something worth confirming. You had to know that looking at the entire Hunter world, Nen exorcists were an extremely rare species.

Someone was following.

Liam casually swung his hand. The Yin Nen Sword disappeared in a whoosh. Was absorbed into the depths of his own aura and appeared on the legs of the hexagonal figure on the Death Energy panel.

He and Shizuku, who was also wearing a mask, didn't need to make eye contact. Had a tacit understanding and accelerated their pace together.

The female reporter not far behind hurriedly started to run. However, no matter how she sped up and followed like parkour, the backs of the two people always remained at the farthest point of her sight, as if they were deliberately hanging her along.

"Since you're willing to be interviewed, why run so fast?" The female reporter was out of breath. She complained and put down her bag, then sat down across from the two of them. Asked curiously, "You guys really cured that person. How did you do it?"

"Has the interview started?" Liam asked. "Time is limited. Are you sure you want to ask this kind of question that I won't answer at all?"

"Exclusive secret recipe, okay, I understand." The female reporter nodded. Took out a recording pen. Thought about it. Put the recording pen back in the bag and replaced it with pen and paper for shorthand, showing her sincerity. "I have a curious question. How are you going to drink coffee and eat your desserts when you're wearing a mask?"

She teased with a smile, but the other person wasn't very polite. "Before our coffee and desserts arrive, you'd better finish the interview and leave. Don't disturb us lifting our masks to enjoy the drinks."

"First question," the reporter began, flipping open her notebook as if reciting from a script she'd already mastered. Her words came out like rapid-fire: "After being a constant fixture in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, do you have any sense of shame left?"

"Oh, sorry, it's not this page." Rustle rustle rustle. The female reporter turned the page again. "No…no…no..... it isn't this page either."

"Your time is really limited."

The female reporter simply turned the book to a blank page. Raised her head. "What's written on your mask? I don't think it's a meaningless pattern, right?"
