Chapter 55 - ball Mikaelson 3

When the door opened, everyone looked in shock, especially Elena's group when they saw Elena's face doubled.

"Katherine…?" Damon gasped and looked to the side, seeing the other doppelgänger. "There was another? How is that possible?"

Stefan was also surprised and looked at the other one and saw more Elena than Katherine.

She seemed more hardened and less bold than Katherine, but she also didn't have that youthfulness Elena had.

At the same time, you could tell she was also very gentle.

"What the hell is going on?" Stefan wondered, shocked.

That's when he heard the sound of clapping and his body moved on its own toward the side as if it were making space.

Damon and Elena were the same, all of them shocked because their bodies didn't respond to their own will.

That was when Elena, who was trying to move, saw something that made her completely furious.

It was Nik appearing behind her copy and placing his hand on the back of the copy's neck.

All she wanted was to follow Esther and have a conversation with her… but Damon stopped her, not letting her go before a dance.

Only for her to see the most horrifying scene she had ever seen in her life—someone with her face having what she desired most.

The Originals also looked shocked when they saw the two doppelgängers appear.

"How is it possible?" Klaus looked at Elena in the middle of the party. "Tatia?"

"No, brother," Elijah also looked completely shocked… "That's not her… she doesn't seem to be a vampire… even though she looks very much like one."

Rebekah, who wasn't as hypnotized, looked at the doppelgänger in confusion, so there was another?

That was her thought, but she focused more on the hand touching the doppelgänger's neck and widened her eyes.

"Klaus?" she asked in shock and looked to the side only to see her brother next to her, hypnotized by the doppelgänger. "How? Wait—"

Rebekah looked once more at the man very similar to her brother and widened her eyes… when the man looked at her and smiled kindly and waved at her.

"No… too young… he looks like Nik when we were human…" Rebekah got lost in nostalgia and widened her eyes again. "Wait, how does he look like Nik?"

"Damn… it makes sense, the magical power I felt similar to Klaus's," Kol appeared beside Rebekah with an irritating smile. "Could it be our brother has a doppelgänger?"

That was when the two widened their eyes and their bodies took a step back and turned toward the door on their own.

"What the hell?" All the Originals shouted in shock the moment they lost control of their bodies.

When they heard a snapping sound like clapping.

"Attention… I, Amara Petrova, announce the arrival of the Bennett clan," the Petrova doppelgänger said. "From the end to the beginning."

---+++---

"Amara… now," Nik passed his hand on Amara's neck and she snapped her fingers and used her immortal psychic powers to take control of everyone's bodies in the room.

The sound of the snap echoed like a sentence.

And then… silence.

Not a normal silence — it was heavy, suffocating. Everyone there still trapped inside their own bodies, conscious… but without control.

Amara kept her gaze firm, her hand still slightly raised, as if holding invisible strings controlling everyone in that room.

A slight smile appeared on her lips.

"Attention…" her voice echoed, calm but absolute. "I, Amara Petrova… announce the arrival of the Bennett clan."

Everyone's eyes widened.

"From the end… to the beginning."

Another snap of her fingers.

And the doors slowly opened.

The first to enter was Enzo St. John.

Firm steps, calm expression… but attentive eyes, analyzing every detail of the room. He didn't seem impressed — as if he already expected that.

Right behind him came Pearl Zu.

Elegant, imposing, with that ancient air that made even the Originals pay attention. Her presence carried history… and danger.

Another step.

Then…

A slow smile appeared.

"Surprise?"

Another movement.

Katherine Pierce entered as if she owned the place.

Confident. Provocative. Dangerous.

But… even so, she wasn't the one in charge.

Her eyes went straight to Amara… and for a second, something rare happened:

Respect.

Then Amara took a step forward.

The control over everyone increased — you could feel it.

It was as if the air had become heavier.

"Now…" she said softly.

And then, the final three names came like a blow.

"The leaders."

Everyone's bodies tried to resist — and failed.

Caroline Forbes took another step forward, now clearly in a position of command.

Beside her, Bonnie Bennett appeared.

The magic around her distorted the environment, as if reality itself acknowledged her presence.

And then…

The last one.

The weight changed completely.

The Originals felt it before they even saw him.

Nik.

When he entered, even Klaus… frozen in his own body… widened his eyes.

It was like looking at a reflection… younger.

Purer.

And yet… more dangerous.

"Head of the family," Amara finished, with a slight bow of her head, still with Nik's hand on the back of her neck. She didn't seem to care at all and even seemed used to such an act.

The silence returned.

But now… it wasn't empty.

It was expectation.

Because at that moment…

Everyone understood the same thing:

They were no longer the most dangerous ones in the room.

--++---

"Amara… dear, please could you make all the humans and innocents leave… this might get dangerous," Caroline smiled at Amara even though her eyes were on Nik's hand on Amara's neck, not a look of hatred or jealousy, more like seriously, you're doing this in public?

"Of course, Miss Caroline," Amara replied cordially and completely gentle, raising her voice. "Now that the clan has been presented, I ask that all humans and innocents leave the place and forget what they saw."

All the humans moved with blank eyes and began walking toward the door, and when the last human left—

Nik stepped forward.

"Well, well, if it isn't the Mikaelson family coming to cause trouble in my city," Nik said, walking to the center of the room.

Only a few supernatural beings, probably shapeshifters who came out of curiosity and didn't consider themselves innocent, the Originals and the saviors with Elena remained.

He looked at the Originals, who had their eyes widened and were still paralyzed.

"You know… I never had any interest in meeting you," Nik said, looking directly at Klaus. "Honestly, I only care about what I inherited from you."

Nik's eyes dilated and black veins began to appear all over his face.

With the veins, his face became much more distorted than any vampire.

The Originals were in shock, not knowing what to do… they couldn't move and now they saw that vampire who looked identical to Klaus when he was young.

"And there is the one who destroyed my life," Nik looked to the other side to see a blonde woman walking forward with a grimace and difficulty moving, but still moving. "I see your title as Original Witch is not exaggerated, being able to move even under the influence of my dear Amara… Esther Hansen."

"I see you became a vampire very early," Esther said with a sad expression. "I no longer answer to that name."

"Thank you very much for that?" Nik said with irony as he moved toward Esther. "You sped up the process quite a bit… I wanted to at least become an adult, but you had other plans, didn't you?"

"It was necessary," Esther replied with a sad look. "For your own protection."

"Dahlia?" Nik replied and smiled when Esther stepped back in fear. "You don't need to worry, she's very busy having a war with your husband… actually, you should root for her to win, because now your husband knows what you did."

Nik's words sounded like pure provocation toward Esther.

Slow.

Cold.

Calculated.

His eyes were still fixed on Esther Mikaelson, absorbing every reaction… every micro expression of guilt she tried to hide.

"Funny…" he tilted his head slightly "…you always had this talent."

A step.

"Of calling destruction protection."

The air around seemed to grow heavier.

Esther Mikaelson pressed her lips slightly, clearly affected… but her tension faded and a small smile appeared.

"I did what needed to be done." Her voice came out firm… there was no doubt in her voice. "Do you think I fear Mikael?"

Nik laughed.

Low.

Without humor.

"No…" he whispered, now closer "…of course not, if you feared him, he wouldn't exist."

Nik pointed at Klaus.

Silence.

Heavy.

Cutting.

Behind him, Amara Petrova remained still… but her eyes briefly passed over Klaus.

And then—

A slight movement of her fingers.

Almost imperceptible.

And immediately, Niklaus Mikaelson's body reacted.

Or rather…

Tried to react.

His muscles tensed.

His eyes shone intensely golden.

His jaw locked.

But nothing moved.

Nothing gave in.

It was as if his own body had been sealed by invisible chains.

His breathing became heavier.

Deeper.

More… irritated.

And then came the voice.

Low.

Dangerous.

"When I free myself…" Klaus began, each word loaded with promise "…I will rip every answer out of you."

Amara didn't even look.

"You won't." she replied simply.

Another small snap.

And this time—

Klaus lost the ability to force his own body.

If before he was trapped…

Now he was completely impotent.

His eyes still alive.

His mind still sharp.

But his body?

Useless.

"You talk too much…" Amara continued, now finally turning her face toward him "…for someone who can't even blink on his own."

That…

That was a direct hit.

Rebekah Mikaelson widened her eyes, the shock evident.

Kol Mikaelson let out a low, incredulous laugh.

"Okay… that's new even for us…"

But Nik didn't turn.

He didn't need to.

"Has he always been like this?" Nik asked casually, still looking at Esther.

"Yes, my son always had a bit of a strong temper, and it seems you inherited that from him," Esther said in a gentle tone.

Nik nodded slowly.

"Makes sense."

Then he took another step, now dangerously close to Esther Mikaelson.

"Do you know what's most ironic?" his voice dropped to something almost soft. "You're playing this good mother role… tell me, do you even know your situation?"

A pause.

His eyes darkened even more.

"You will not have a calm and gentle end," Nik declared with hatred.

His gaze shifted.

Directly.

To Klaus.

Even motionless… even restrained… Klaus looked like a force of nature compressed.

Pure rage.

Wounded pride.

Contained violence.

Nik smirked.

"I know," Esther said honestly. "I know you have reasons to hate me… to hate us… but can we talk as a family?"

Esther clapped her hands.

And at that exact moment, Amara took a step back as if she had a headache, and everyone moved again.

The sound of Esther Mikaelson's clapping echoed…

And for a moment—

The world breathed again.

Amara Petrova stepped back, bringing a hand to her head, as if something had pressed into her mind from within.

The control…

Loosened.

Bodies that had been stiff as stone finally responded.

Damon Salvatore pulled in air forcefully, as if he had been underwater.

Stefan Salvatore immediately stepped in front of Elena Gilbert, instinctively.

The Originals—

Moved.

But no one attacked.

Because no one was foolish enough.

Yet.

And then…

Klaus.

Niklaus Mikaelson slowly turned his neck, as if testing his own body… confirming the control was gone.

His eyes shone.

And this time—

Nothing held him back.

He stepped forward.

The ground seemed to respond.

"Finally…" his voice came out low… heavy.

He made a movement to attack Amara—

But couldn't move again.

But this time it wasn't mental.

It was physical.

As if a barrier held him in place.

"Niklaus," Esther's voice called with authority. "I will not accept violence in this house."

It was his own mother who restrained him this time.

"Hahahahah haha," the laughter drew everyone's attention. "As a family? Who are you to decide that? You don't have that right after causing my death."

The hatred and venom were evident in Nik's voice.

In his mind, the only reason he hadn't killed Esther yet was because his mother hadn't given permission.

"You're right," Esther said with a sigh. "I really don't have that right… but your father, your uncles, and your aunt do. They didn't know about your existence and had nothing to do with your death and transformation."

Esther looked at Klaus and then at the other Originals.

"What?" everyone spoke at the same time.

Klaus widened his eyes in shock.

He didn't even realize Esther was no longer holding him with magic.

He could only stare at the boy in front of him…

With something stuck in his throat.

"I see…" Kol said in shock. "That explains why the boy's magical power is almost identical to Klaus's."
