Chapter 234 - The Isekai Arc ( FILLER)

The Slaughter

His prayer was suddenly shattered by a sound that made his blood run completely cold.

It started as a low, distant rumble, like an approaching storm. Then, it escalated into a deafening, terrifying roar.

The young man's eyes snapped open. The temple bells were entirely drowned out by the chaotic, blood-curdling screams of thousands of voices outside. The heavy wooden doors of the temple courtyard violently shuddered.

"What is happening?" his father gasped, stepping backward in sheer terror.

Before anyone could react, the heavy doors gave way with a splintering crash. A massive, heavily armed mob poured into the sacred courtyard like a tidal wave of pure hatred. There were thousands of them—faces twisted in fanatic rage, wielding rusted swords, iron pipes, and heavy cleavers.

Within seconds, the sanctuary turned into a slaughterhouse.

There were no questions asked. There was no mercy. The mob immediately began butchering everyone they found, slaughtering them solely because they bowed to a different god. The air instantly filled with the sickening sounds of tearing flesh, shattering bone, and the agonizing, desperate screams of the innocent.

The young man was completely frozen, backed against the stone pillars as the courtyard was painted red. His heart hammered violently against his ribs, his breath trapped in his lungs.

What is happening? he pleaded in his mind, his eyes wide with absolute, paralyzing horror. Please, God, save us. Please... please! I don't want to be killed. No... save us from this massacre. Save us from this hell! Please!

A towering man from the mob charged forward, a blood-soaked machete raised high above his head.

"Dad! Move!" the young man screamed, reaching his hand out.

But he was too late.

The machete came down with a sickening crunch, burying itself deep into his father's neck. The old man's eyes went wide with shock before he collapsed onto the marble floor in a pool of his own blood.

"No!" his mother shrieked, falling to her knees beside her husband.

A second attacker grabbed her by the hair, violently yanking her head back before dragging a rusted blade across her throat.

The young man let out a raw, guttural scream of absolute agony, entirely blinded by his tears. He lunged forward, desperately trying to reach his parents' lifeless bodies.

Before he could even take two steps, a blinding, searing agony exploded in his abdomen.

He gasped, all the air violently violently forced from his lungs. He looked down. A massive, heavy steel sword had been plunged directly through his stomach, the bloody tip protruding from his back.

The attacker violently kicked him in the chest, pulling the blade free.

The young man collapsed onto the cold marble floor, his blood pooling rapidly, mixing with the spilled water and crushed marigolds. His vision began to blur, the terrifying screams of the mob fading into a hollow, ringing static. He stared at the lifeless eyes of his father just a few feet away, the pain in his stomach radiating like absolute fire, pulling him down into the suffocating, endless dark.

The Present Reality

Whoosh.

The deafening roar of the mob instantly snapped out of existence. The smell of blood and incense vanished.

The young man blinked, pulling a sharp, heavy gasp of air into his lungs. The horrific memory violently distorted, peeling away to reveal the cold, solid concrete of the overpass, the thick black smog, and the roaring diesel engines of the industrialized realm.

He was standing on the national highway, his hand still gripping the concrete rail so hard it was cracking under his armored gauntlet. The air was filled with toxic chemicals, and the gray-uniformed soldiers were still patrolling below.

The nightmare of his past had faded, but the suffocating reality of the present stared him right in the face.

The Pivot of Destiny

"Master? Master, what happened to you?"

The young warrior blinked, the heavy, metallic voice of the heavy knight pulling him out of the suffocating depths of his own memories. The knight was standing right beside him on the concrete overpass, his visor raised, eyes filled with genuine concern.

"Why were you standing so entirely still for quite some time?" the elven archer added, stepping forward with a worried frown. "Your mana... it was trembling."

The young man took a deep breath of the polluted, smog-filled air, forcing his racing heart to slow down. He shook his head, pushing the agonizing memories of his murdered family back into the darkest corners of his mind.

"It is nothing," he said, his voice steadying. "I was just lost in thought for a moment. Everything is fine. Let us move."

He turned away from the railing and took a single step down the asphalt highway.

But then, his boot stopped.

He looked at the marching soldiers in their gray camouflage. He looked at the thick black smog choking out the sun. He felt the heavy, oppressive weight of a regime that saw human lives as nothing more than statistics on a ledger. The sheer, suffocating tyranny of it all clawed at his soul.

No, he thought, his hand slowly drifting to the hilt of his massive broadsword. I cannot move. I cannot just walk past this.

He closed his eyes. "This country... it is the exact replica of the world I lived in," he whispered, the realization solidifying into an unbreakable vow. "I cannot allow this injustice to happen again. I cannot allow these innocent people to be entirely refrained from their freedom. If this state is left unchecked, they are going to destroy everything beautiful in this world."

He turned back around to face his bewildered party. The soft, gentle demeanor of a traveler was completely gone. In its place was the terrifying, absolute resolve of a conqueror.

"Listen to me, everyone," he commanded, his voice echoing with undeniable authority. "I must announce a change in our path. We are not going to kill the Demon Lord today. I have a completely new objective for us all."

He drew his glowing silver-blue broadsword, pointing the heavy blade directly at the towering corporate skyscrapers in the distance.

"We are going to tear this empire to the ground."

The Corporate Throne

Hundreds of miles away, completely insulated from the toxic air and the dying earth, the executive boardroom of the A.S.S. Corporation sat in absolute, sterile silence. The room was a monument to cold, brutalist industrial power—sleek obsidian tables, massive illuminated glass maps plotting out global trade routes, and floor-to-ceiling reinforced blast-glass overlooking the sprawling, smoke-choked empire they had built.

"...and following the deportation orders in the lower districts, the labor quotas have temporarily dropped," a crackling, static-laced transmission hissed from a heavy brass analog speaker in the center of the table. It was a minor executive reporting on logistics. "We will need to forcibly reallocate the rural populations to secure the iron supply chains before the end of the fiscal quarter. The resistance has been—"

"Cut the transmission," Kniya ordered, his voice sharp and utterly dismissive.

He stood up from his heavy leather chair, methodically adjusting the cuffs of his immaculately tailored suit. He reached into his vest, pulled out a heavy, intricately geared gold pocket watch, and checked the time. His expression tightened into a look of profound annoyance.

"I am receiving an urgent, high-tier wire from the central financial sector. I need to take this immediately," Kniya announced to the room. He looked across the long obsidian table at his business partners—Salesh, Filoska, and Malesh.

Kniya's eyes narrowed, going cold as he locked his gaze directly onto Malesh, who was leaning far back in his chair with an unnerving, predatory calm.

"I will be gone for exactly ten minutes," Kniya said, his tone dropping into a strict, absolute warning that left no room for interpretation. "Do not take any decisions without my explicit presence and permission. Malesh. That goes especially for you. Touch nothing."

Malesh slowly tilted his head, a dark, incredibly arrogant smirk spreading across his face, his eyes gleaming in the dim incandescent light.

"Yes, definitely," Malesh replied smoothly, waving a dismissive hand. "Take your time."

Kniya stared at him for one agonizing second longer before turning on his heel and walking out of the heavy, soundproofed steel doors. The massive mechanical tumblers locked into place with a heavy, resounding clank behind him.

The exact second the door sealed, the atmosphere in the room violently shifted.

Malesh didn't waste a single breath. He immediately sat forward, his smirk widening into a look of pure, unhinged malice. He reached deep into his tailored coat pocket and pulled out his own heavy steel key. Then, with a terrifying grin, he casually pulled open Kniya's side of the obsidian table drawer, retrieving the second master launch key that the Managing Director had carelessly left behind.

The master launch keys. Forged from solid steel and grooved with complex mechanical engravings.

Salesh and Filoska instantly sat bolt upright, the blood completely draining from their faces as they recognized the intricately engraved cylinders.

"Malesh, what in God's name are you doing?!" Salesh yelled, his voice cracking in sheer, absolute panic as he lunged forward across the obsidian table.

Filoska jumped to her feet, her heavy wooden chair violently scraping against the polished floor. "Have you completely lost your mind?! Kniya explicitly ordered you not to touch anything!"

Malesh completely ignored their screaming. He slammed both heavy steel keys into the central brass console on the table, violently twisting them simultaneously. The heavy gears ground together beneath the table. The massive illuminated glass map in the center of the room instantly shifted, its incandescent bulbs flashing a blinding, alarming crimson.

TARGET ACQUIRED: NORTHERN TERRITORIES. DEMON LORD VANGUARD.MECHANICAL AUTHORIZATION ACCEPTED.

"I am getting my revenge, that is exactly what I am doing!" Malesh snarled, his eyes burning with absolute, petty fury as he stared at the glowing red glass. "How dare he call me something like that?! A 'wretched worm'?! 'Mortal filth'?! A 'pathetic human insect'?! I am the Head of Production of the Sovereign Government! I single-handedly orchestrated the economic collapse of three entire kingdoms! No mud-dwelling, cape-wearing fanatic gets to insult me like a peasant and live!"

"Malesh, stop!" Salesh pleaded, frantically pushing his wire-rimmed glasses up his nose, his hands shaking violently. "Do you have any idea how much a single intercontinental ballistic missile costs to manufacture?! You are going to completely bankrupt our quarterly defense budget!"

"Then deduct it from the Demon Lord's nonexistent bank account!" Malesh shouted back, completely deaf to reason.

Malesh lifted his hand, positioning his palm directly over the massive, spring-loaded brass execution button.

"Fire," Malesh whispered, his voice trembling with sheer, psychotic glee.

He slammed his hand down on the button.

CLACK.

Then, he lifted his hand and slammed it down again.

CLACK.

And again. And again. And again.

Salesh and Filoska watched in absolute, paralyzed horror as Malesh completely lost his mind. His hand became a literal blur as he aggressively, relentlessly spammed the heavy mechanical button, laughing like an absolute maniac. He hit it ten times. Twenty times. Thirty times.

He didn't stop until he had struck the firing mechanism exactly fifty times.
