It was Arkan and Abdullah's turn again.
This was the final debate that the crowds had come for.
The judge spoke with the same trick supporting Abraham's team.
«The beginning is for the right side».
Arkan stood up, adjusted his clothes and said in a calm voice:
«Abdullah, you seem happy for a person on the edge of the abyss of execution».
«Arkan, you seem calm for a person carrying five dirhams with him».
Arkan uttered the beginning of the debate:
«I wandered in the streets of Babylon yesterday throughout the day and night, you were walking quickly with your head down heading, even you passed by a café where I was sitting but you did not return the greeting, can you tell me what was occupying you?».
«My brother, this is my way of thinking and venting myself».
Abdullah answered then asked:
«Listen, what makes you sit in a café near the Eclipse Cave, are you trying to spy on our movements to get information to attack us with in the session?»
«I do not need a café and sitting to get information about an ordinary human like you, I simply like drinking coffee in the open air».
Arkan asked:
«I heard that Mater possessed a very ancient emerald gem that he inherited from his family, according to my knowledge its value is around ten thousand dirhams.. my question is where is this gem? Did you steal it?».
Some tension spread in the hall.
Stealing family inheritance was an immoral act in that era.
Arkan was silent for a little and closed his eyes.
But he opened them surprised... why did not the judge end the session?
The judge gave time for Abdullah to reply:
«It was not me who visited Mater's house but it was the demoness Clara, and I remember that she did not take the gem but left it in his house».
This was a trap from Abdullah, because if Arkan said the gem is not in Mater's house that means he sneaked into Mater's house, and the fact that he said the information points strongly that he is the one who stole the gem.
But Abdullah does not know with whom he is playing.
A large screen appeared in the middle of the court, it was showing a scene that happened yesterday.
Everyone saw Abdullah entering Mater's house sad, and after six full hours he exited very happy as if he had obtained much loot.
