Lilith POV
Lilith was coming back from the garden when she ran into Sebastian.
Not literally this time.
He was standing at the side entrance of the estate with his shoulder against the door frame.
His arms crossed and his dark eyes on her from the moment she came around the corner like he had been waiting there and knew exactly when she would appear.
She stopped.
Looked at him.
He looked back.
"You were with Lucian," he said.
"Yes," she said.
He nodded once. Like that answered something he had been wondering about.
She walked toward him. He did not move from the doorway. Just watched her come until she stopped in front of him and looked up at his face.
He looked tired.
Different from Lucian's tired. Lucian had looked wrung out. Emptied. Sebastian just looked like a man who had been awake all night and was running on something other than sleep and was not bothered by that in the slightest.
