The power surge faded. The dual magic retreating back into her core.
Veyra looked at Lilith for a long moment. Then she smiled.....genuine respect in her expression.
"Well said," Veyra acknowledged. "But Lilith, power and conviction aren't enough when you're facing coordinated supernatural factions. You're strong. Potentially stronger than any of us. But you're untrained. Unprepared. And surrounded by people who are keeping secrets from you."
She looked at Victoria. At Elena. At the Alphas standing protectively near Lilith.
"When the truth comes out," Veyra said quietly, "and it will come out....make sure you're angry at the right people. The ones who lied to you. Not the ones who tried to warn you."
Then she turned and walked away.
The other two witches followed.
Within moments, they had disappeared into the tree line beyond the estate borders.
Silence fell over the group standing at the entrance.
