"Really? Where are you guys going tonight?" I asked, my eyes widening.
The moment he said it, all the heaviness inside me disappeared. Excitement rushed in instead, quick and bright.
Finnick's expression darkened instantly. I could feel it without even looking too closely. The air around him shifted, heavier, sharper.
I didn't hide my reaction at all.
That only made it worse.
"We're going to Granary. Seven in the evening," he said, his voice low. "You remember where it is?"
"Of course!" I got up from the couch immediately, energy rushing through me. "I once went there on a blind date with a complete jerk."
I couldn't stop smiling. "This is perfect. I'm so close to getting what I've been working for all this time. Thank you, Finnick!"
I didn't wait for his reply. I turned and headed upstairs, already thinking about everything I needed to prepare.
Behind me, I could feel his gaze.
Heavy. Deep. Watching.

She's the only one who would be this happy.
