Alexander stood quietly outside Hagrid's hut and glanced toward the doorway.
A few seconds passed, and the door slowly creaked open.
Two familiar figures stepped out.
Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.
Harry blinked in surprise.
"Alex? Why are you here?"
Alexander shrugged casually.
"I just met with my mom and dad."
He crossed his arms.
"The real question is, why are you two here?"
"It's past curfew. Why are you guys not in the dormitory?"
Ron immediately looked nervous.
"Well, Harry… Alex is right. We should probably go back."
Harry shook his head.
"Wait, Ron."
He looked at Alexander.
"We can trust him."
Alexander smirked.
"Oh? On a little adventure, are we?"
He took a few seconds to stretch his body slightly.
"Let's go. I do enjoy a nightly walk. Where are we going?"
Harry and Ron exchanged uncertain looks.
Alexander raised an eyebrow.
"If you two don't start leading the way…"
"I'll send both of you straight to Professor McGonagall's Office."
Harry quickly answered.
"We need to follow the spiders."
"Hagrid said we should," Ron quickly added.
Alexander nodded casually.
"Cool. Lead the way."
The three of them walked into the depths of the Forbidden Forest.
The deeper they went, the darker and quieter it became.
Ron was clearly terrified.
He kept mumbling random nervous words under his breath.
Eventually, the spider trail led them to a massive hollow surrounded by webs.
At the center stood a huge cave.
Harry and Ron were nervous as they walked into the cave.
Alexander was secretly smiling. He was thinking about a way to capture and farm the spiders for ingredients.
As they were getting near the end of the cave.
A massive spider dropped down from above.
It was enormous.
A giant Acromantula.
Ron screamed, and Alexander quickly covered his mouth and said.
"Shut up. You are making too much noise."
The spider looked at them carefully and calmly spoke.
"I am Aragog."
Harry stepped forward and began speaking with it.
Alexander listened quietly as Harry asked questions.
Aragog explained many things.
About Hagrid and the monster that lives within Hogwarts.
But Harry was so focused on the conversation that he didn't notice something.
They were slowly being surrounded.
Hundreds of spiders slowly crawled out from the shadows.
Alexander noticed immediately and quietly pulled out his wand.
He let go of Ron's mouth and waited while paying attention to all the spiders.
He was waiting for the cutscene to reach the end before making a move.
A nearby spider lunged forward.
Alexander quickly waved his wand.
"Confringo."
The lunging spider exploded, and the surrounding spiders stopped trying to get near them.
Alexander noticed the cutscene was over. He looked at Aragog and said.
"An Acromantula."
"Classification: XXXXX."
"Extremely dangerous."
Aragog's many eyes focused on him.
"You do not seem afraid."
"My children only spare Hagrid."
Alexander laughed.
"I have decided! You're all too ugly to keep you as pets."
Another spider jumped toward them.
Alexander swung his briefcase downward and smashed the creature to the ground.
Then he stomped on it.
After making sure it was dead.
He looked up at Aragog.
"Sell me your venom."
"It's worth about 100 galleons a pint."
"I might have some use for it."
Aragog's voice suddenly turned furious.
"How dare you!"
"My children—"
"Feast!"
The surrounding spiders attacked.
Alexander calmly cast Incendio on the spider he had just killed. He kicked at Aragog.
He was actually looking forward to capturing Aragog for his venom.
But suddenly—
Harry and Ron both screamed.
"RUN!"
They immediately started sprinting away.
Alexander sighed.
"Fine."
He chased after them while firing spells behind him.
"Diffindo!"
A spider split apart.
"Reducto!"
Another exploded.
"Confringo!"
"Bombarda!"
Explosions and fire filled the forest behind them.
Harry only managed to cast Arania Exumai once during the entire chase.
Meanwhile, Ron was screaming like a terrified child.
Alexander, however, was having the time of his life.
He laughed wildly while blasting spiders apart.
"All that training paid off!" As he shouted, he kept spamming different spells.
As they ran, the Ford Anglia suddenly burst out of the forest.
The enchanted car skidded beside them.
They jumped inside, Ron drove, Harry was moral support, and Alexander stuck his body out of the window and kept firing spells.
Spiders exploded behind them as the car drove away.
The car finally lifted into the air.
Alexander sat back down with adrenaline still in his body.
"That was fun!"
"Let's do it again!"
Harry and Ron were still scared and trying to calm themselves down.
When they landed, everyone got out of the car.
Ron groaned loudly.
"Follow the spiders…"
"Follow the spiders…"
"Look what happened when we followed the spiders!"
Alexander got annoyed.
"Please shut up. Before I make you."
Ron stopped complaining.
The car began driving off again.
Harry suddenly said with excitement,
"I knew it! Hagrid didn't open the Chamber of Secrets!"
Alexander blinked.
"You two almost died, and you're worried about Hagrid?"
He laughed.
"You two managed to sneak out by yourselves."
"I'm sure you can find your way back."
Alexander cast a Disillusionment Charm over himself.
Then he quietly walked back toward the castle.
Alexander entered the Ravenclaw common room.
To his surprise—
Cho was still there waiting.
He hugged her from behind and got rid of the charm.
"It's late. Why are you not asleep?"
Cho held his arms and looked up at him.
"I was waiting for you."
When she touched his arms, she noticed something.
He was covered with dirt, and there were leaves on him.
Cho said, "You're making me dirty and smell like sweat."
Alexander smiled, "Oh, sorry, I forgot."
He quickly let her go.
She stood up and looked at him.
Cho frowned and began brushing the dirt and leaves off his clothes.
"What happened?"
Alexander casually explained the entire story.
Following the spiders.
Meeting Aragog.
Running from hundreds of spiders.
Cho stared at him with worry.
"You should have just come back. Why follow them?"
Alexander shrugged.
"As a star student…"
"I should protect the students."
He grinned.
"Also… I had fun."
Cho couldn't help but laugh.
She didn't kiss or hug him goodnight.
She just waved him and said.
"Goodnight, Alex."
"Goodnight, Cho."
Soon they both returned to their rooms and went to sleep.
