Chapter 230 - Words Left Unsaid

Alexander walked directly to the Hospital Wing.

The castle was still quiet.

Most students were asleep, unaware of everything that had happened during the night.

He stepped inside and immediately saw Cho resting peacefully in one of the beds.

Alexander pulled a chair beside her and sat down.

Without hesitation, he gently took her hand.

"…Please wake up," he muttered quietly.

After a moment, he opened his briefcase beside him.

"Silver."

The house elf's head popped out.

"Yes, Young Master?"

Alexander didn't look away from Cho.

"Can you bring some food?"

Silver nodded.

"And when Cho wakes up… bring some for her too."

Silver bowed slightly.

"Silver will bring food."

She disappeared.

A short while later, she returned carrying several wrapped meals with drinks.

He thanked her and began eating.

Alexander wasn't watching, but Silver quietly pulled out a camera and began taking pictures.

He was eating with one hand.

The other was not letting go of Cho's hand.

After eating, time passed slowly.

Alexander sat quietly, watching her breathe.

He began thinking again.

I really thought…

I thought I was going to lose her.

That pain in his chest earlier…

The fear.

The anger.

The desperation.

It had been stronger than anything he expected.

Alexander looked at her face.

When did this happen…

His grip on her hand tightened slightly.

When did my feelings get this strong?

Was the pain love?

Alexander honestly didn't know.

But he knew one thing.

He never wanted to feel that fear again.

Eventually…

Exhaustion caught up with him.

Still holding her hand—

Alexander leaned forward and fell asleep beside the bed.

Some time later…

He woke up to a gentle touch on his head.

Alexander slowly opened his eyes, and he looked up.

Cho was awake.

She was smiling softly at him.

Alexander's eyes widened.

"Cho!"

He immediately pulled her into a tight hug.

"I'm sorry!"

His voice cracked slightly.

"Very sorry!"

"I didn't mean for this to happen."

Cho gently hugged him back.

"It's not your fault."

She rested her head against his shoulder.

"Who knew Professor Lockhart would be the culprit?"

Alexander slowly pulled back and looked at her face.

Then without hesitation—

He kissed her.

A long, deep kiss.

When they finally separated, Alexander opened his mouth to say something—

But Cho spoke first.

"I thought I was going to die."

Alexander froze.

Cho looked down slightly.

"The last thing I thought…"

Her voice trembled just a little.

"My only regret… was that I never got to say something."

She looked straight into his eyes.

"I love you, Alexander Chen."

Alexander blinked.

Completely stunned.

Cho smiled at him.

"I wanted those to be the last words I ever said."

For a moment, Alexander didn't say anything.

Then he smiled.

"I love you too, Cho Chang."

And he kissed her again.

A little while later—

Silver returned with more food.

The romantic moment slowly turned into a quiet conversation while they ate.

While eating, Cho said.

"You need to repair them."

Alexander looked up.

She pointed at her wrists and neck.

Both bracelets and the locket looked a little damaged.

"The protection charms broke."

Cho sighed.

"I was too shocked to react."

She shook her head.

"Lockhart could cast spells faster than I expected."

Alexander chuckled.

"That's because he was borrowing magic from someone."

Cho blinked.

"…What?"

Alexander then began explaining everything.

The diary.

Lockhart.

Tom.

The basilisk.

The chickens.

The briefcase.

By the end of the story—

Cho was staring at him in disbelief.

"…So do you still have it?"

Alexander shrugged.

"I will after the summer."

"Mr. Scamander will examine it first."

"After that, Dumbledore should give it back."

Cho slowly removed the locket and bracelets.

She handed them to him.

"Can you fix them?"

Alexander carefully took them.

"Of course."

He placed them safely into one of his pouches.

They continued talking quietly for hours.

Until finally—

Madam Pomfrey appeared.

She crossed her arms.

"Alright, you two."

"That's enough."

She pointed toward the door.

"Mr. Chen."

"Go back to your dormitory."

"Come visit tomorrow morning."

Alexander sighed.

"Alright."

He leaned down and kissed Cho gently on the forehead.

"I'll be back tomorrow."

Then he whispered.

"I love you."

Cho smiled warmly.

"I love you too."

Alexander returned to his room.

The castle was completely quiet now.

He opened his briefcase and stepped inside.

First, he reorganized everything and took out everything he needed.

Checked the basilisk and walked around Serpent Mountain.

Made sure the barrier and other safety measures were functioning.

Afterwards, he gathered his magical creatures.

House elves, unicorns, the Troll, and his fairies.

While Alexander was with Cho. He sent Silver and Copper with the briefcase to find Tinkerbell and her family.

He explained everything that will happen.

The deal with Dumbledore.

The visit to Mr. Scamander.

And the summer plans.

Once they all understood the hugged them goodbye.

He exited the briefcase and said.

"Silver, you can take it to the Headmaster now."

Silver bowed deeply.

"Silver will, Young Master."

"Silver will take care of everything."

He smiled and gave her one last pat on the head.

"Enjoy your summer."

Then she vanished with the briefcase.

Alexander closed the now-empty space in his trunk.

He walked to the bathroom and took a long shower.

After changing into clean clothes—

He collapsed onto his bed.

And fell into a deep sleep.
