Chapter 274 - Chapter 274: The Multiverse and the Dark Celestials

Beyond the Multiverse lay an endless void.

No ordinary living creature could survive within such emptiness.

However, an abstract entity like the First Firmament certainly did not belong within the category of ordinary life.

He could survive within this void.

It could even be said that existing there was as effortless for him as it was for a human to breathe air.

Karl had been right about one thing.

The First Firmament truly had not paid any attention to him.

Or rather, Karl's strength had not yet reached a level worthy of his attention.

Karl might possess extraordinary talent, but that talent had yet to fully develop. Naturally, the First Firmament did not consider him important.

The ones he truly regarded as threats were the powerful Living Tribunal and beings on the level of the Five Great Gods.

Even the First Firmament could not afford to underestimate existences like them.

"It is truly difficult to imagine."

"In only a few billion years, a broken fragment managed to develop to such an extent that even I find it troublesome."

The First Firmament laughed bitterly at himself.

As one of the oldest and most powerful beings in existence, he was naturally extremely arrogant.

He had never thought highly of these younger beings.

Aside from the supreme One-Above-All, there was probably no one in existence he genuinely respected.

Yet now, these beings he had never taken seriously were causing him so much trouble.

He could not even reclaim the fragments of his own body.

To the prideful First Firmament, this was nothing less than a humiliation.

"I will reclaim what belongs to me."

"I refuse to believe that you can stop me!"

The First Firmament was an exceptionally cunning existence.

He was no match for the Living Tribunal in a direct confrontation.

Therefore, he decided to resort to underhanded tactics.

Using his power, he began corrupting the beings surrounding the Living Tribunal, gradually placing them under his control.

Under normal circumstances, nothing unusual could be detected.

However, once a critical moment arrived—such as when the Living Tribunal's mind became even slightly clouded—the consequences would be disastrous.

The First Firmament only needed to give events the slightest push.

The powerful beings of the Multiverse would immediately turn against one another and descend into internal conflict.

That was precisely the outcome the First Firmament wanted to see.

However, this was not his only method.

To deal with the Multiverse, he once again called upon his earliest creations.

During the early days after the First Firmament was born, he had created a group of Celestial servants to ease his endless loneliness.

These Celestial servants worshiped him fanatically and also created life of their own.

The First Firmament approved of these servants and bestowed upon them the name Aspirants.

Because their forms were black, they were also known as the Black Celestials.

However, they were not the First Firmament's only servants.

Another group of servants gradually evolved and developed until they eventually formed emotions of their own.

These beings became the Celestials.

It could be said that the earliest Celestials were truly worthy of their divine name.

They deeply valued the development of the universe and the countless life-forms within it.

They helped the universe grow, and countless species had once received their protection.

They were completely different from the Celestials who came later.

However, it was precisely because of this that the First Firmament viewed their actions as an unforgivable betrayal.

The Celestials became known as the Multicolored Rebels.

Later, the Aspirants and the Celestials fought an earth-shattering war.

It was the great war of the ancient era, born from chaos.

Even the First Firmament was haunted by the memory of that conflict.

The reason he had remained sealed away for so many years was also connected to that war.

Now, however, he intended to invade the Multiverse.

Using the energy templates preserved within his memories, the First Firmament directly created enormous numbers of Aspirants once again.

They were his creations.

They were his slaves.

This time, he had learned from his previous failure.

Every Dark Celestial possessed multiversal-level strength.

To a certain extent, each one had enough power to destroy a small universe.

The First Firmament looked upon these elite creations, arranged like an army, and felt extremely satisfied.

They were killing machines—cold, emotionless creations.

They were merciless existences without the slightest trace of compassion.

They were puppets born solely for destruction.

"Excellent. You have retained only the most basic ability to think, while every other emotion has been sealed away."

"Go, my children. Spread my will throughout the Multiverse."

"Destroy everything."

"Reduce everything to ruin."

The First Firmament's will resounded within the minds of the Dark Celestials.

Every member of the Dark Celestials dropped to one knee and gazed upon the First Firmament with fanatical reverence.

This devotion was the only emotion they had been permitted to retain.

At the First Firmament's command, more than ten thousand Dark Celestials entered the Multiverse.

They shared the same origin as the Celestials and were fundamentally no different from them.

The only distinction was that one possessed rich emotions, while the other possessed none.

Therefore, the arrival of the Dark Celestials within the Multiverse initially attracted no one's attention.

Under the First Firmament's concealment, the thousands upon thousands of Dark Celestials appeared to exist as a single unified entity.

Not even the most powerful beings could detect them.

These incomparably powerful Dark Celestials then unleashed waves of slaughter and terror throughout the entire Multiverse.

Consider the difference in numbers.

How many Celestials were there in total?

Even with the most generous estimate, there were only slightly more than two thousand.

Their true numbers might have been somewhat higher, but not by much.

What about the First Firmament?

He had directly dispatched twenty thousand Dark Celestials.

What did that represent?

He had sent out an entire army.

Even twenty thousand ordinary animals would cover an enormous area and fill the horizon.

The Dark Celestials were incomparably larger.

Every one of them possessed a body comparable to an entire continent.

Fortunately, the Multiverse was vast.

Otherwise, twenty thousand Dark Celestials would have been like sharks released into a tiny pond, without enough room to move freely.

The First Firmament understood that the moment the Dark Celestials launched their attack, the Five Great Gods and the Living Tribunal would inevitably intervene.

However, he only needed them to create enough chaos.

That would give him more than enough opportunity to corrupt those powerful beings.

The First Firmament was confident that the Dark Celestials could accomplish this task.

Before long, the Dark Celestials unleashed a reign of blood and terror across the entire Multiverse.

As the center of the Multiverse, the Main Universe naturally became one of their primary targets.

Half of the Dark Celestial army entered the Main Universe directly.

In an instant, the Main Universe descended into bloodshed and chaos.

Mass slaughter suddenly erupted throughout the Main Universe.
