As he looks at the outcome of his first life he makes a decision

I ain't an antagonist and I won't waste my time trying to prove it when literal zombies are chasing me!

He recalls how the original Antagonist despite having maxed the affection of all the heroines was for various reasons abandoned for the protagonist 

Realising this he mentally prepares himself for a lonely struggle for survival

Rei Miyamoto : Damn vixens stay away from my brother!!

Fate always has a way of ruining ones plans

Oh and also blessing the protagonists with bad luck
