Cherreads

Chapter 36 - Chapter 36:Dragons fly, snakes slither

The battlefield was still burning.

Charred earth stretched for miles where a living forest had stood only minutes before. Ash drifted slowly through the air like black snow.

Kyro stood in the center of the devastation, breathing heavily.

The draconic horns on his head slowly receded.

The black scales across his body faded back beneath his skin.

But something was wrong.

His vision blurred.

The poison.

Even though his mana had begun purging the toxins left by Orochimaru, the damage from the fight had pushed his body close to its limit.

Kyro clenched his fist.

"Not here…"

He couldn't stay.

Too many powerful shinobi would investigate an explosion of power like that. The destroyed forest alone would attract attention from multiple villages.

Without hesitation, Kyro voidstepped away from the battlefield, sprinting across the ruined terrain with supernatural speed.

Hours passed.

He didn't stop moving.

Crossing rivers.

Jumping cliffs.

Traveling through abandoned valleys.

Eventually, when he was certain no one had followed him, Kyro finally slowed down deep inside a frozen mountain region.

The air was biting cold.

Snow covered everything.

This was the outer frontier of the Land of Frost.

Perfect.

Remote.

Unimportant.

Forgotten.

Kyro formed a quick summoning seal with his hand.

A familiar mana circle appeared on the ground.

FWOOOSH

A gentle shimmer of light formed as Miku reappeared.

For a split second she looked confused.

Then she saw him.

Kyro swayed slightly on his feet.

The poison was still in his system.

Miku's eyes widened in panic.

"Master!"

She rushed forward and grabbed him before he collapsed.

Her arms wrapped tightly around him as tears immediately filled her eyes.

"You idiot…!" she whispered shakily.

Her hands trembled as she looked over his body, sensing the lingering toxins interfering with his regeneration.

"You're still poisoned…"

Kyro gave a tired half-smile.

"Working on it."

Miku buried her face against his chest, holding him tightly for a moment before pulling back and focusing.

Soft mana began flowing from her palms.

She placed one hand gently over his heart and the other on his abdomen.

"I'll help stabilize the mana flow," she said quietly.

Her energy synchronized with his.

Slowly…

The poison began breaking down faster.

Kyro exhaled slowly as the pressure in his chest eased.

Snowflakes drifted down around them as the cold wind blew across the mountains.

For the first time since the battle began…

Things were quiet.

After several minutes Kyro finally spoke again.

"We're going underground for a while."

Miku looked up at him.

"How long?"

Kyro gazed toward the distant horizon where the shinobi world lay beyond the mountains.

"The world is about to get messy."

Wars were brewing between the great nations.

The instability was already spreading.

Eventually it would erupt into the brutal conflict known as the Third Shinobi World War.

Kyro's eyes hardened slightly.

"I'm not getting dragged into that… yet."

He needed time.

Time to master his abilities.

Time to strengthen his body.

Time to understand the terrifying power he had begun drawing from the Dreadbringer.

Miku wiped her eyes and nodded.

"Then we disappear."

Kyro smirked faintly.

"Exactly."

He pointed toward a massive frozen mountain further north.

"Plenty of caves up there. We'll build a hidden base."

Training.

Research.

Control.

When the war finally began…

Kyro intended to emerge far stronger than anyone expected.

Miku slipped her arm around his waist, still supporting him as they started walking through the snow together.

The storm slowly swallowed their footprints behind them.

Deep in the cold wilderness of the Land of Frost, the two vanished from the shinobi world.

For now.

But somewhere far away…

Inside a hidden laboratory, Orochimaru stared at a scroll containing notes about Kyro.

His golden eyes gleamed with obsession.

"You can run for now…"

His tongue slid across his lips slowly.

"But eventually…"

"I will have your body."

After a while of traveling the 2 reach an ice covered cavern...

The system flickered to life in Kyro's vision while he rested inside the icy cavern of the northern mountains.

A faint blue interface formed in the air.

Kyro leaned back slightly as the interface faded.

He hadn't expected the system to reward him so heavily.

But surviving someone like Orochimaru clearly counted as a massive achievement.

Kyro smirked slightly.

"Worth it."

Miku crossed her arms.

"Barely."

Hidden Leaf & Cloud Intelligence Network

Far away, rumors were spreading across the shinobi world.

The destruction of an entire forest region was impossible to hide.

Eventually the intelligence reached the Hidden Cloud.

Inside the towering stone office of the Raikage sat the legendary man himself.

The Third Raikage.

Third Raikage

A massive dark-skinned giant of a man with muscles like sculpted stone.

A cloud intelligence ninja knelt before him.

"Lord Raikage. Updated intelligence report."

He handed over a scroll.

The Raikage read silently.

The report detailed:

A mysterious dark-skinned boy

Dragon-like abilities

A strange fairy-like summon

Combat with Orochimaru

Destruction of a large forest region

Silence filled the room.

Then suddenly...

BOOM

The Raikage slammed his fist on the table and burst out laughing.

"HAHAHAHA!!"

The room trembled.

The intelligence ninja flinched slightly.

The Raikage grinned widely.

"That brat fought Orochimaru and lived?"

His eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Good."

He stood up from his chair.

Lightning chakra crackled faintly around his body.

"If monsters like that are appearing…"

He looked out the window toward the training fields.

"Then the Cloud needs to become even stronger."

He turned back to his ninja.

"Send orders."

"Triple the training intensity for all Jonin squads."

The ninja bowed.

"Yes, Lord Raikage."

The Raikage crossed his arms with a grin.

"I want to meet that kid someday."

Meanwhile…

Deep in the frozen mountains of the Land of Frost…

Kyro and Miku had begun building something new.

Not just a cave.

A hidden fortress.

They had to work slowly.

The Land of Frost had small hidden ninja villages scattered across the region.

If large-scale chakra or mana fluctuations were detected, they would investigate.

So everything was done gradually.

Month by month.

Miku used her environmental manipulation to reshape the interior of a massive frozen cavern.

Kyro carved massive chambers using controlled dragon flame and precise combat strikes.

Over time the cavern became something incredible.

Inside the mountain now existed:

• A central living hall lit by glowing crystal formations

• A training chamber reinforced with dense stone and ice

• A massive underground bath pool fed by geothermal heat

• Storage vaults for system items

• A meditation room for mana cultivation

• A combat arena carved directly into solid bedrock

Warm glowing crystals filled the fortress with soft golden light.

Despite being buried inside a frozen mountain…

It felt warm.

Safe.

Hidden.

Perfect.

Time passed quietly.

Three full years.

During that time the outside world continued moving toward war.

But Kyro and Miku focused entirely on growth.

Kyro pushed his body harder than ever before.

Every day included brutal routines.

Morning

Combat art mastery.

He repeatedly drilled the techniques from the world of Sekiro.

Thousands of repetitions.

Every strike refined.

Every stance perfected.

Techniques mastered:

Praying Strikes

Whirlwind Slash

Ichimonji

Spiral Cloud Passage

Dragon Flash

One mind

But Kyro didn't stop there.

He began infusing mana directly into the techniques.

Each combat art evolved.

Mana reinforced speed.

Mana amplified impact.

Mana enhanced cutting power.

Eventually his strikes began leaving shockwaves in the training chamber.

Kyro also mastered a new technique.

Mana Body Reinforcement

By circulating mana through his muscles and bones he could multiply his natural strength.

Originally he could only maintain it for seconds.

After three years…

He could sustain it for hours.

His physical power had become terrifying.

But he wasn't alone.. Because he had help from his energetic fairy....

Miku assisted with his physical development.

Using her environment manipulation, she created extremely dense stone training weights.

Not ordinary stone.

Compressed stone heavier than steel.

Kyro trained with:

• 2-ton ankle weights

• 5-ton shoulder harness

• Massive gravity stone blocks

At first he could barely move.

But over years his body adapted.

Eventually Kyro could sprint across the cavern floor while carrying over 10 tons of training weight.

His muscles became extremely dense and powerful.

Not bulky.

But monstrously strong.

Miku also transformed during these years.

Her combat ability improved drastically.

She mastered:

• Advanced illusion magic

• Terrain manipulation combat

• Mana reinforcement for speed

• Fae combat techniques from her homeland

Her body became even stronger as well.

Her thighs gained visible muscle.

Her movements became faster and more graceful.

And she loved sparring with Kyro.

Often teasing him during combat.

One day inside the underground arena…

Kyro stood shirtless in the center of the training floor.

Steam rose from his skin.

Miku floated nearby with her arms crossed, smiling proudly.

Kyro slowly exhaled.

Three years.

Three years of brutal discipline.

And he could feel the difference in every muscle and every breath.

His mana core pulsed steadily in his chest.

Stable.

Powerful.

Controlled.

Miku tilted her head playfully.

"So…"

She floated down beside him.

"Master."

"Ready to check your stats again?"

Kyro smirked slightly.

"Yeah."

The system interface flickered to life again.

And this time…

The numbers were far higher than before.
