Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Oscar Winner Roy

Several days after driving Loki away, Roy brought Daphne and Cassandra out of the Stardust Garden, arriving at the Guild Headquarters.

As for Miss Ryuu, the moment she heard that members of the Evilus faction and merchant guilds colluding with them had appeared on Daedalus Street, she grabbed her wooden sword and ran off excitedly.

Having already mastered the power of Level 5, Miss Ryuu would kill Gods if they blocked her path, kill Buddhas if they blocked her path. Roy didn't think those Evilus scum could do anything to her.

The three had just stepped into the Guild Headquarters when they heard the news that the Freya Familia would be conducting an expedition into the Dungeon's unexplored territory. The hall was abuzz with heated discussion.

A barely noticeable arc curved at the corner of Roy's mouth. The Freya Familia and the Guild hadn't torn each other apart—at least not openly. The punishment for the Freya Familia was disguised as an expedition mission.

Although the sixtieth floor was called the "unexplored territory," this wasn't actually the case. The Zeus and Hera Familias had already explored the Dungeon to the seventy-first floor.

But as far as Roy knew, even if not truly unexplored, the sixtieth floor had plenty of good things that could entertain the Freya Familia to their heart's content.

At least for four or five months, the Freya Familia would have no time to trouble him.

Freya, too, because her disguise was exposed, was being mercilessly teased by the Gods—especially her arch-rival, Goddess Ishtar, who had been going crazy with joy these past few days, taking every opportunity to飞龙骑脸 in front of Freya.

With Ishtar疯狂 pulling仇恨, Roy felt Freya's anger had been redirected.

Roy sneered coldly in his heart. This was merely a bit of interest. Dared to scheme against him? Sooner or later, he would destroy Freya and the entire Freya Familia—an eye for an eye, blood for blood!

Arriving at the Guild counter, Roy saw the brown-haired half-elf Guild advisor surrounded by a crowd.

Though nominally disguised as an expedition mission, the eyes of the masses were sharp.

Gods, adventurers, and citizens all knew this was punishment for the Freya Familia.

Adventurers and citizens victimized by the enhanced species merman incident and the destruction of Daedalus Street had rushed over to express their gratitude to Eina for venting their anger.

The tale of Eina charging up to the second floor of the headquarters, finding Guild Master Royman, and arguing with him based on reason had spread far and wide. All of Orario knew of it.

At this moment, Eina was the messenger of justice in people's eyes, unyielding to power and darkness!

But Roy watched with furrowed brows. Beneath the glamorous exterior often hid countless dangers. Eina was being used as a gun by Guild Master Royman.

Now, the Freya Familia's resentment and firepower toward the Guild would all be aimed at Eina.

Sending just one Level 2 member could result in Eina being found with several knives in her back, ruled a suicide. Of course, he wouldn't fare much better either.

Knowing full well that Eina was rigorous and serious in her work, he had deliberately embedded various hints within the expedition report.

But there was a difference between the two.

If something really happened, that dead pig Royman would immediately abandon Eina to preserve the so-called greater good. How could an ordinary Guild employee compare in value to Orario's strongest Familia?

While Roy would step in to help Eina. After all, it wouldn't be the first time going head-to-head with the Freya Familia.

Seeing Roy's group enter the hall, Eina's emerald-green eyes lit up. She squeezed through the crowd, coming before Roy. "Mr. Roy, good morning!"

Roy smiled. "Good morning."

After looking left and right, Eina pulled Roy to a corner, speaking solemnly, "Mr. Roy, you must be careful of the Freya Familia from now on."

Roy's eyes were clear. "What do you mean?"

Eina sighed. Mr. Roy was truly too pure and kind, unaware even when being schemed against.

She had to warn him! According to her guess, the Freya Familia creating the enhanced species monster was specifically targeting the Astraea Familia.

"What?!"

When learning the truth from Eina's mouth, Roy controlled every muscle on his face—shock, confusion, bewilderment, disbelief, grief and anger intertwined.

As if completely unaware of the inside story.

The dangers he had encountered in the Dungeon were actually from the Freya Familia. He played the role of a youth who had just learned such news to perfection.

"Why would the strongest Familia target a weak Familia like us?" Roy feigned anger.

If others heard these words, they would probably cough up blood in anger. Four Familia members: Level 5 + peak Level 3 + two Level 2s. Though the Astraea Familia was small in number, their quality was absurdly high.

What "weak Familia" possessed such strength?

"I don't know. But you must be careful from now on, Mr. Roy. I don't want to see you—"

Eina spoke. Goddess Freya's promiscuous reputation was widely known. It was likely that a member of the Astraea Familia had been targeted.

The final word "die" didn't come out.

Eina bit her thin, rosy lower lip, her eyes reflecting Roy's handsome face.

Roy spoke with genuine sincerity, "Thank you, Miss Eina. I'll be careful from now on."

Eina smiled satisfactorily. Then, seeing Roy fully equipped, she couldn't help asking, "Mr. Roy, are you going to the Dungeon?"

"Yes!"

Roy nodded. He wanted to test the Freya Familia. If Freya still suspected him, then there was an eighty percent chance she would send people to watch him, or even act directly.

Seeing this, Eina hesitated to speak, a trace of embarrassment appearing on her small face.

Roy asked kindly, "Is there somewhere I can help?"

"This sort of thing shouldn't trouble Mr. Roy..." Eina's face showed conflict.

Roy smiled, "It's fine. Just as the Guild takes care of new adventurers by assigning advisors, as a high-level adventurer, taking care of the Guild's new employees is also proper. We should help each other."

Eina was stunned. Since coming to Orario, this was the first time she had heard such heartwarming words. Her eyes grew moist with emotion, "Mr. Roy, really, saying such nice things. Who knows how many girls will be deceived by your sweet talk in the future."

"..." Roy was speechless. He truly hadn't flirted with many girls. At most, he couldn't help teasing the elf maiden who matched his preferences.

"Mr. Roy, that girl is the first new adventurer I've taken under my wing. Could you help take care of her?" Eina indicated for Roy to look toward a corner of the hall, where a human girl with a constrained expression stood.

Around the same age as Eina, fourteen or fifteen years old, wearing equipment issued to new adventurers by the Guild.

"Sure."

Roy agreed. It didn't matter. Today was just to pass time and test the Freya Familia anyway.

"Thank you!" Eina said gratefully. The Guild's rough statistics showed that new adventurers' survival rate for their first Dungeon entry was around fifty percent.

She truly didn't want to see the first newcomer she took under her wing die immediately inside. With a high-level adventurer's care, the survival rate would greatly increase.

As an advisor, no matter how much theoretical knowledge she taught newcomers, she had never entered the Dungeon after all. Her understanding of monsters was far inferior to Roy's.
