"Let me."
Roy stopped Marie from biting her finger. This Needle Rabbit had soft white fur and a small horn on its forehead—a top-tier cute pet. The Ikelos Familia would also want to sell it for a good price, so they wouldn't truly harm it.
Roy could see that it only had superficial wounds. Using mermaid blood would be too excessive.
"Noah Heal!" Roy chanted.
As his words fell, emerald green life-rich light descended upon the Needle Rabbit. As time passed, the wounds on its surface gradually healed.
The Needle Rabbit, its body healed, recovered its spirit. A humanized expression of joy appeared on its face as it leaped up, tightly hugging Roy's thigh.
Marie glared at the Needle Rabbit, as if declaring her sovereignty, sparks flying between their gazes.
Both sides confronted each other, neither yielding.
As fellow Xenos, they could brave fire and water for each other, but some things could not be surrendered.
"Since things have come to this, let's eat first." Roy retrieved bread, roasted meat, and other food from his spatial ring.
Roy moved over a large rock, using the Elven Holy Sword to carve it into a stone table. Over a dozen exquisite dishes were laid upon it, making both Xenos drool.
"Hooray!"
The Xenos had never eaten surface food before. Their attention was immediately diverted. The rich aroma enchanted them greatly. Marie and the Needle Rabbit ate until their mouths were full of oil, satisfied smiles appearing on their faces.
Food stored in the spatial ring had its shelf life greatly extended. Even after several days, it would still seem freshly made.
In the Dungeon, this was undoubtedly the supreme enjoyment—hundreds of thousands of valis would not persuade anyone to exchange it.
Roy accompanied the two Xenos in eating, contemplating the problems ahead. The Freya Familia was not yet resolved, and now he had provoked the Ikelos Familia.
He had killed most of them just now, but it was impossible to clean them all up. The sentry in the passage must have escaped—his exposure was inevitable.
"Roy..."
Seeing Roy occasionally furrowing his brows, the simple-hearted Marie also realized something. She looked at him worriedly, guilt appearing on her small face.
"It's fine, just a small trouble."
Roy laughed out loud, stroking Marie's small head. He was only thinking about whether to eliminate the root, conveniently wiping out the Ikelos Familia.
He had dared to clash head-on with the Freya Familia—would he still fear a mere Ikelos Familia?
What he feared was the Thanatos (Death God) Familia, the strongest among the Evilus faction. The Ikelos Familia might have connections with that Familia.
Both had their strongholds in the man-made labyrinth.
And precisely because it was inside the man-made labyrinth Daedalus, Roy found it troublesome. He couldn't enter—that place required a key, the Eye of Daedalus.
After eating their fill, they parted ways.
Marie dove into the water. The Water Capital was large enough; hiding a monster was simple.
If her compatriot had not been captured and used for coercion, Marie would not have appeared at all.
The Needle Rabbit would be picked up by other Xenos.
Both Xenos watched Roy's departing figure with grateful gazes. This was the first human they had encountered who was willing to help them.
In Roy's heart, there was only the distinction between good and evil—whether one was a Xenos or a human made no difference.
Not long after Roy left, the person who came to retrieve the Needle Rabbit also arrived on this floor. A figure completely shrouded in black robes, like a ghostly presence—it was precisely "The Sage" Fels, who had briefly contacted Roy before.
The Ikelos Familia corpses had been mostly eaten by monsters, but traces could still be vaguely seen.
Fels learned of the events from Marie and the Needle Rabbit, his tone complex. "The Sprout of Justice—I never expected the first human to accept Xenos would be you."
His previous setback with Roy had made this youth memorable. Afterward, the other had risen like a supernova, his speed astonishing.
Now he was involved with Xenos again—was this fate? Fels mused in his heart. Orario in the days to come was destined not to be too peaceful.
Meanwhile, Roy returned to the eighteenth floor. On the way back, as expected, the Dungeon's malice struck, large numbers of monsters emerging on every floor.
When Roy's stamina was exhausted, the Dungeon would reveal its most ferocious fangs.
But this time, it was disappointed.
Roy did not use these monsters to train his ability values. Instead, he charged through with the Elven Holy Sword. With Heavenly Incineration activated, crimson flames burned away large swathes of monsters.
The Elven Holy Sword attracted surrounding magic elements, equivalent to chantless magic with minimal spiritual power consumption, yet capable of unleashing powerful magic. Whoever saw it would shout "cheat."
Roy returned to the eighteenth floor. The three girls had finished resting. The concept of "resting for a night" for adventurers was different from ordinary people.
Only the low-level Maris still showed traces of sleepiness on her face, but she forcibly rallied her spirits.
The group smoothly returned to the surface.
It was now the early morning of the second day after they entered the Dungeon. They arrived at the Guild Headquarters to report to Eina and exchange magic stone fragments for money.
Running off to the eighteenth floor without permission inevitably resulted in a scolding from Eina. Even Roy was not spared. The furious half-elf girl's momentum even suppressed high-level adventurers and Guild Master Royman.
But Eina also discovered that the originally arrogant Maris had become much more obedient, willing to humbly accept her suggestions. With this attitude, her survival rate in the future would greatly increase.
Eina clicked her tongue in wonder—how was this accomplished?
What a miraculous doctor Roy was!
This trip—testing the Freya Familia, helping Eina look after the newcomer, and visiting Marie—had all objectives completed satisfactorily. Roy brought the two girls back to the Stardust Garden.
Daphne and Cassandra went to rest. Only in their own home could their minds completely relax.
Roy, however, was searching for a new dungeon.
According to his character, once someone was determined to be an enemy, he would definitely eliminate their entire family as soon as possible. But the Ikelos Familia's man-made labyrinth was not easy to deal with.
Thus his remaining choice was one: raising his strength was the fundamental solution to all problems!
But this matter was not easy either.
Level 3 was a position that was neither high nor low. Zombies and other small fry could no longer grant him any rewards. Hunting high-level targets—his strength did not permit it, so he could only drool at the rewards.
Dungeon hunting required targets of equivalent level or even above his own to yield rewards.
Like when he killed the Hundred-Headed Demoness earlier—only a pitiful 50 attribute points. If he targeted such small fry, it would take several months.
And that was the price from a few days ago!
Now his ability values had increased again, correspondingly reducing the rewards for killing small fry.
And hunting high-level targets was even more difficult.
Could he just tell someone to stand still and let him hunt them?
There was even the possibility of being counter-killed.
Fortunately, he could freely choose dungeons, having great autonomy in this aspect. A Level 3 could not pick a Level 9 dungeon to enter and die.
