Chapter 370 - Chapter 358: Spider-Man’s Regret

Hearing what her nephew said, May immediately ran out with the shoulder bag containing the antidote.

Norman Osborn let out a strange cry, broke free of the webbing pinning him to the wall, grabbed a nearby table lamp, and threw it at May.

Little Spider hurriedly shot out a web, caught the lamp, and slammed it into the wall.

Doctor Octopus shouted and lunged at Osborn, intending to restrain him.

But at this moment, Max raised his hand and fired a violent surge of electricity.

After obtaining the Arc Reactor, his energy level had risen sharply. The electricity he fired was far more powerful than when he had previously fought Spider-Man.

Otto wasn't paying attention and was hit head-on by the blast, sending his entire body flying out the window.

Immediately, all the lights in the apartment building flickered, then went out in large sections.

Below the apartment building, the reporters who had been lying in wait heard the commotion. They looked up and shouted, "Quick, get this on camera! Look up there! What's that?"

"I knew it. Spider-Man is nothing but a jinx."

"Disaster follows wherever he goes!"

Doctor Octopus had been blasted out of the apartment building. He hurriedly saved himself as the mechanical tentacles on his back repeatedly grabbed at the building's outer wall.

After falling more than a dozen floors, he finally stabilized himself.

He looked up at the building, then at the cameras below, and could only let out a sigh before leaping away from the building.

Using his mechanical tentacles, he quickly left the scene.

Above the building, Max shouted through the open window, "Marko, let's go!"

His entire body transformed into plasma. He then flickered repeatedly through the air like a yellow bolt of lightning, disappearing in an instant.

Homelander didn't leave. He looked toward the floor. His vision pierced through layer after layer of floors until he could see the underground parking lot.

There, the "Destroyer" seemed to have received its command but had remained motionless, attracting the attention of many people, who took out their phones to film it and upload it to the internet.

At this moment, fire lit up in its eyes. Flames then erupted from its feet and back, propelling it upward as it smashed through the ceiling of the parking lot.

BOOM!

Chunks of rubble fell down.

The onlookers in the parking lot cried out and fled in all directions.

When they looked up, the Destroyer had already disappeared from the parking lot.

They went to the hole in the ceiling and saw that the Destroyer had smashed several irregular holes through it.

People exclaimed in surprise. Quite a few of them took out their phones to take pictures and upload them to Twitter.

When Homelander saw the Destroyer flying upward, he knew that Staro must have made some kind of modification to it.

He had never known that the Destroyer could fly.

[Inside the Apartment]

Osborn and Peter Parker had already started fighting.

The two exchanged blows, punching and kicking as the furniture, walls, and table lamps in the room were constantly destroyed.

"Peter Parker, we don't need to choose."

"Gods don't need to choose."

"When a god wants something, all he needs to do is take it."

"Why can't you understand that?"

Norman Osborn laughed maniacally and kicked Spider-Man through the window. Seeing that he was about to fall, Peter Parker shot a web that stuck to Osborn and used the force to pull himself back.

Osborn grabbed the web, spun around, and threw Spider-Man onto the balcony.

He then lunged after him, but missed. Little Spider jumped up and did a backflip, landing behind Osborn.

He swept his leg and knocked Osborn down.

Then he shot a web at the ceiling of the balcony, pulled himself up, and kicked downward with force.

Peter Parker landed on Osborn. The impact smashed a hole through the balcony, and both of them fell onto the balcony below.

Osborn shoved hard and sent Little Spider crashing into an empty room.

Peter Parker quickly got back up. Suddenly sensing something, he immediately jumped onto the wall.

The floor of the room exploded, and a dark figure rose from beneath it. Pieces of rubble fell onto the dark figure, producing a series of clanging sounds.

Osborn froze and looked at the dark figure in the room. "What is this?"

To Little Spider, it was a humanoid robot. It had a tall body, dazzling flames glowing from its eyes, and a body filled with a powerful presence.

"Is this another enemy?", Peter Parker could only feel bitter. He was starting to regret letting these people from the other multiverses out.

'Maybe Doctor Strange was right. We should respect fate.'

Peter Parker thought this to himself.

Suddenly, flames erupted from the robot's back, propelling it toward Osborn.

But at this moment, the ceiling of the room suddenly shattered, and a figure dropped in front of Osborn.

Spider-Man, clinging to the ceiling, clearly saw that it was a man. He was crouching on the floor and slowly straightening up.

A red cape fluttered behind him.

His black suit shimmered with a metallic sheen.

The blond-haired, blue-eyed man looked up at the mechanical creation, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, then suddenly kicked out.

The robot was blasted away. It smashed through who knew how many walls before finally flying out of the apartment building and crashing into another building.

Shouts, screams, they rang out between the two buildings.

This made the reporters below ecstatic.

"Keep filming!"

"This is an exclusive! An exclusive!"

"Film me now. Yes, right now!"

"Hello, viewers."

"It's me."

"I'm here to report the latest situation with Spider-Man."

"As you can see, Spider-Man is causing another disaster."

"Look, we don't know what's happening upstairs, but one thing is certain: this place is under attack."

"People are screaming and running downstairs."

"What is Spider-Man doing this time?"

Above the apartment, Homelander glanced at Osborn behind him and said, "Do what you need to do."

Osborn widened his eyes.

In his eyes, Homelander saw the Destroyer flying back.

He smiled slightly.

Then he suddenly turned around.

He punched the Destroyer in the head, knocking the divine-weapon-level metal construct almost flying away again.

But Homelander caught it.

Then a second punch sent the Destroyer crashing into the ceiling.

Rumble!

The Destroyer smashed through layer after layer of ceilings, finally bursting out through the roof of the apartment building. It flew half a meter into the night sky before flames erupted from its back, creating thrust and bringing it to a stop.

Homelander looked up and smiled, then shot into the sky. He followed the "passage" created by the Destroyer and reached the rooftop.

As soon as he appeared, the mask on the Destroyer's face opened. A high-energy, searing blast of light fired downward. It tore through the night sky, intending to burn Homelander to ashes.

Homelander's eyes quickly lit up. The blood vessels around his eyes were illuminated by the light, forming red patterns.

BOOM!

Golden light surged from his eyes and collided with the stream of fire fired by the Destroyer, creating a stalemate.

But the stalemate lasted only briefly. Homelander increased the power of his "Heat Ray" and quickly gained the upper hand.

The collision between the "Heat Ray" and the "Flames of Destruction" turned the night into day.

"Film the rooftop!"

"No, wait. The sky."

"Just point the camera upward!"

The reporter below the building shouted, "Viewers, look! What is that?"

"Is that a mech?"

"And who is the man fighting it?"

"What does any of this have to do with Spider-Man?"

"We don't know the answers to those questions yet, but I can say for certain that both sides fighting in the air possess terrifying power."

At this moment, the "Heat Ray" blasted into the Destroyer. The guardian of the Asgardian treasury was immediately sent flying. It spun as it fell and crashed into a building.

One corner of the building immediately shattered, while countless windows exploded, sending countless fragments flying.

"Oh my God, the area affected by the disaster has expanded again!"

"This is all thanks to Spider-Man."

"Wait. Look who I see."

"It's Spider-Man! He's appeared!"

"Film over there, idiot! The northwest side of the building."

Amid the reporter's shouting, Spider-Man appeared on camera.

In the footage, Peter Parker, without his Spider-Man mask, was pushed toward the balcony by Osborn.

Osborn kicked him, sending Spider-Man flying off the balcony.

But Peter Parker quickly reacted. He shot a web that stuck to the underside of the balcony and swung into another room.

Inside that room, a couple tightly hugged their child and retreated into the corner of the living room.

Little Spider gave them an apologetic look. Then Osborn landed on the balcony outside, so he hurried out the door to avoid involving the family.

"You were strong enough to have everything you wanted."

Osborn followed after him.

Spider-Man shot a web at a fire extinguisher beside him and hurled it at Osborn.

Osborn merely turned his head slightly while running, causing the fire extinguisher to miss.

He grabbed Little Spider and threw Peter Parker over his shoulder, then said, "Unfortunately, you don't understand how to take what you want."

"Join me, Peter Parker. Let's take everything together. We'll become gods among men."

Little Spider landed on the ground, cursed him as a madman, then charged forward. He jumped onto Osborn's shoulders and, from above, punched him in the face.

Then came the sounds of fist after fist hitting flesh.

Peter Parker's fists rained down. He wanted to knock Osborn unconscious, but although Osborn didn't fight back, he laughed maniacally.

Then Osborn grabbed him and slammed him hard into the floor.

Little Spider was slammed through the hallway floor and landed in the passageway on the level below.

He caught his breath and suddenly remembered May.

"I can't keep fighting him here."

Peter Parker held his chest and got back up. He came to the window, shot a web, and pulled hard, tearing the window out.

A helicopter was circling outside, its lights shining over.

Although Peter Parker didn't want to appear under the light, he couldn't worry about that now. He climbed onto the outer wall and was about to climb down.

Suddenly, he sensed danger.

He only had time to look up before he saw a creature rapidly crawling down the outer wall of the building above.

It was none other than the Lizard, Connors.

He grabbed Little Spider by the neck and stuck out his forked tongue, licking Peter Parker's face, "I told you before. You wouldn't have a good ending."

With that, the Lizard slammed Spider-Man through a window.

Osborn was waiting for him there.

The Green Goblin laughed loudly and stepped forward, grabbing Peter Parker and lifting him up. He threw him upward, caught him, then slammed him down again.

Rumble!

The two kept smashing through the floors, rapidly falling downward.

After a moment, they crashed into the lobby on the first floor of the apartment building.

Amid the flying rubble, Peter Parker seemed to see May.

But at this moment, he couldn't summon even a bit of strength.

He regretted it. In his heart, he cursed himself again and again for trying to save these hopeless people.

Originally, all he had to do was let Doctor Strange cast his spell and send these dangerous people back.

Then none of what happened tonight would have happened.

As these thoughts surfaced in Peter Parker's mind, the "Seed of Desire" Homelander had buried in his mind trembled, then quietly sent out a black sprout.

Homelander immediately sensed it.

At this moment, the "Destroyer" flew over again.

Homelander had no intention of getting entangled with it.

His figure blurred for a moment, and another him appeared beside him.

A clone.

The clone immediately charged forward and attacked the "Destroyer" with punches and kicks, holding back the guardian of the Asgardian treasury.

Homelander himself used "Telepathy" and instantly arrived in the apartment lobby.

Seeing Spider-Man pinned beneath Osborn, he smiled slightly and took the [Darkhold] out of his "Inventory."

The evil book, emitting a black aura with sparks drifting around it, opened. Homelander turned to the page containing the "Fallen Black Mist."

He placed his hand on it. Immediately, every symbol and every line on the page lit up.

Then, from those symbols and lines, thick black mist poured out.

It seemed to have weight. Instead of rising, it sank downward.

After falling to the floor and reaching Homelander's feet, it began spreading and became almost imperceptible.

The Fallen Black Mist.

It could easily cover the entire apartment lobby and gradually corrupt intelligent life within the area, turning them into slaves to their desires.

Homelander intended to use it to push Peter Parker toward the dark side faster and make the "Seed of Desire" in his mind bloom and bear fruit.

At this moment, neither Peter Parker, Osborn, nor even May

noticed that something had appeared beside them.

A faint, barely visible mist.

Holding Spider-Man down, Osborn looked at Peter Parker's young face and said, "Your weakness is your fatal flaw."

"It has you firmly in its grip."

"Can't you feel it?"

Just then, May rushed over and stabbed the antidote into Osborn's neck.

Osborn cried out in pain, stood up, pulled out the syringe, and threw it aside. Then he said, "It's useless."

"Besides."

"It's you. You're the one who turned him into a pathetic weakling."

Osborn crouched down, grabbed Little Spider by the hair, and lifted him up, making him face May.

Norman Osborn whispered into Peter Parker's ear, "You want to cure me?"

"No."

"You're the one who should be cured."

"Now, let me help you."
