Reading the signboard mounted above the doorway in an eye-catching manner, Miles couldn't help but pause.
"Damn. It's only been a couple of days, yet it feels like it's been more than a month," he voiced, shaking his head slightly as he walked inside.
Upon seeing the door being pushed open, the receptionist's eyes lit up and she was about to spring into action when she recognized Miles.
"Good day."
Miles greeted with a simple nod and walked past her toward Grace's office.
Knock, knock!
"Come in."
Grace's cold, authoritative voice with a sense of leadership came through.
Revealing a subtle smile, Miles twisted the doorknob with a click and stepped inside.
Sensing his presence, Grace sharply lifted her gaze from the desktop screen, her nonchalant eyes fracturing with emotion as the office momentarily fell silent.
Facing Miles after a couple of days that actually felt like a long time, Grace felt mixed emotions.
