Chapter 76 – The Gilded Cage and the Sovereign's Shadow

In the God Realm Committee :

In the center of the Divine Realm, within a hall built of solidified nebulas, the five God-Kings gathered. The God of Destruction (Hui Mie) stood like a pillar of crackling purple lightning, his gaze fixed on the shimmering projection of the mortal world. Beside him, the Goddess of Life (Sheng Ming) radiated a gentle, emerald light, her brow furrowed in deep contemplation.

Across from them, the God of Evil and the Goddess of Kindness watched the swirling prismatic energy rising from the Sunset Forest. Between them all sat Asura, his three-meter-long blood-red sword resting against his chair, his eyes glowing with the cold light of judgment.

"The pulse," Destruction rumbled, his voice shaking the pillars of the hall. "It isn't just a high-level Spirit Ring. It is a Level 0 Origin. Something is rewriting the laws of the Spirit Ring system we established. It is a simulation of the primordial era."

The Soul Masters are born from the Divine Energy that leaked from the God's Realm during the Gods War with the Dragon God and the Beast Gods. That's the reason why their Cultivation System are extremely similar to the Gods that has Divine "Rings". Hence, after the Gods war, the Gods took it upon them selves to teach the Mortals of the Douluo Plane how to cultivate it.

Asura's grip tightened on his hilt. Through the eyes of the Death God Domain held by Tang Hao, he had once peered into a timeline where his successor, Tang San, unified the world under the banner of the Sea and the Clear Sky. But that timeline was now a shattered mirror. A Void had appeared in the center of the continent—a boy named Lakan who moved outside the script of fate.

"The Phoenix God," Asura said, his voice a low rasp. "Bring him here."

The Phoenix God entered the hall. He was no longer the tired, fading shadow Lakan had met in the valley. He walked with a rediscovered grace, his feather-woven robes shimmering with the Diwa Lakan had sent upward.

For the past few days in the God Realm years in the mortal world, the Phoenix God had been smiling—a sight that unnerved the others. He remembered the Future Lakan, who had appeared like a sun and erased the Future Rakshasa. That version of Lakan had looked at the Phoenix God from afar, yet seemed so close, and whispered, "I did it. The birds are home."

"You feel it, don't you?" Destruction stepped toward him, the purple lightning singing the air. "The disturbance. The return of the Phoenix that the Dragon God died to erase. Is it your successor?"

The Phoenix God met Destruction's gaze without blinking. "He is not just my successor. He is the answer to the decay of this realm. You call this a sanctuary, but it is a 4 Dimensional cage—a tenth of the glory we once had. My boy is building a bridge to the 6th Dimension. He is bringing back the Divine Planet."

"He is a threat to the Order!" Asura roared, his killing intent flooding the room.

"He is the Order," the Phoenix God countered. "And as long as the Divine Laws forbid us from direct interference, you can do nothing but watch him molt."

While the Committee debated, the Sea God Poseidon paced his sapphire balcony in a state of controlled panic. He had felt the "ONE" bloodline. He knew that if Lakan reached Godhood, the concept of "Creation" would make the Sea God's power over the tides look like a child playing in a bathtub.

Poseidon looked toward the mortal world, his eyes narrowing with the hypocrisy that had defined his reign. He had once stopped the Angel God from unifying the continent, claiming that Total Unification was a sin against the natural cycle—yet he had unified the vast oceans under his trident without a second thought.

"I cannot wait for the five-year promise," Poseidon thought.

He focused his divine sense, channeling it through the vast waters of the continent until it reached the ears of Tang Hao, who was currently overseeing Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor awakening.

"Tang Hao," the God's voice boomed in the Titled Douluo's mind. "The Young Sovereign of the Martial Soul Hall has ascended to a forbidden rank. If your son stays on this land, he will be crushed before he can bloom. Take him to the Sea God Island. Now. The Nine Trials must begin today."

Tang Hao, battered and weary, looked at his son. He felt the same pulse from the Sunset Forest and knew the God was right. The New Era was moving too fast.

In the Angelic Sanctuary within Wuhun City, the High Priest Qian Daoliu knelt before the massive golden statue of the Six-Winged Angel. He felt the throne tremble. He felt the Hundred Birds bowing toward the forest and feared that the Angelic Lineage was being eclipsed.

"Great Goddess," Daoliu prayed, his voice trembling. "The Sovereign... he is absorbing the world. Should the Angel's sword be drawn against him? For the sake of Renxue's future?"

Suddenly, the sanctuary was filled with a warmth that was not fire, but pure, structured Light. The Angel Goddess manifested—not as a statue, but as a consciousness of pure Order.

"Daoliu," her voice echoed, surprisingly soft. "The Sea God wishes for war. He fears the loss of his monopoly. But I look at the Sovereign and I do not see a destroyer. I see a weaver. He is building the Absolute Order I have dreamed of for ten thousand years."

Daoliu looked up, stunned. "But... our lineage? Renxue?"

"Renxue is already following him," the Goddess replied, a hint of divine amusement in her tone. "She sees what you do not. The Great Calamity is coming from the stars—the madness of the Dragon God's remains. Only a Phoenix Sovereign who can Simulate and Create can stand against it. Do not fight him, Daoliu. Lean into his path. If the Angel must be the wing that carries the Sovereign, then so be it."

Back in the Sunset Forest, Lakan stood on the surface of the Ice and Fire Well. His The ONE form flickered as he practiced his new ability.

Lakan uses the Bloodline Chaos Core to Simulate a Soul Skill.

He raised his hand. He didn't have a lightning martial soul, but his Chaos Core remembered the frequency of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon he had encountered in the tournament.

Cr-crack!

A bolt of pure, draconic blue lightning danced across his fingertips. It wasn't a copy; it was a perfect simulation of the law itself.

"Not enough for a God yet," Lakan murmured, his double-pupiled eyes seeing the faint threads of space-time. "But enough to make the 'Five Shields' regret their existence."

He turned his gaze toward the forest exit. His Future Peeking showed him three shadows waiting for him—three Titled Douluos sent by the Alliance to kill the Monster in its crib.

Lakan smiled, a cold, iridescent expression. He didn't reach for his blades. He simply stepped forward, his Sovereign Avatar towering behind him, its phantom Kampilans already Shaving the air into a cage.

"Old Poison," Lakan called out to Dugu Bo. "Stay back. I want to see if a Titled Douluo can survive even three seconds of the Truth."
