Chapter 91 - CHAPTER 91: A Thing?

SEVI'S POV:

I was already late.

Again.

At this point, being late was practically part of my personality.

I was jogging through the hallway with my bag half slipping off my shoulder, one hand trying to fix it while the other clutched my phone. The school corridors were nearly empty now since classes had already started, and that only made my panic worse.

If the principal caught me wandering around after the bell again, I was dead.

Absolutely dead.

I turned the corner quickly,

And immediately froze.

My entire body locked in place.

Theo.

He was standing in the middle of the empty hallway.

And in front of him…

Atasha.

My eyes widened.

Without even thinking, I jumped back behind the wall so fast I nearly smacked my head against it.

My heart started pounding like I had just witnessed a crime.

No way.

No freaking way.

I carefully leaned my head out just enough to peek.

Yep.

Still there.

Theo and Atasha.

Alone.

In an empty hallway.

During class.

My eyes narrowed dramatically.

So… it's true.

I pressed a hand over my mouth to stop myself from audibly gasping.

They're a thing.

I knew it.

I KNEW IT.

There had been weird vibes for days, glances, tension, random disappearances, Atasha acting suspicious, Theo being… well, Theo.

And now this?

This was confirmation.

My mind immediately started connecting dots that probably didn't even exist.

Oh my God.

Is she that girl?

I peeked again, trying to hear what they were saying, but they were speaking too low.

Useless hallway acoustics.

I squinted harder like that would somehow improve my hearing.

I caught Theo saying something, and then,

Atasha let out a laugh.

I recoiled in horror.

She laughed?

I looked back again, scandalized.

What did Theo say that made her laugh?

My face twisted into a full expression of secondhand embarrassment.

No.

No, no, no.

I did not need to imagine Theo flirting.

That was cursed information.

Illegal.

Emotionally damaging.

I pressed my back against the wall again and stared at the ceiling like I had just witnessed something deeply disturbing.

Why do I feel violated?

I peeked one last time.

They were still talking.

Too close.

Too private.

Too suspicious.

My eyes widened even more.

This was serious.

This was gossip-level serious.

This was Anna-needs-to-know-immediately serious.
