KAYLA'S POV (Continuing):
As the movie went on, the whole ghost situation happened.
And I was deeply offended by it.
"Wait," I said, sitting up straighter. "Is that girl a ghost or Aphrodite?"
Theo looked at me like I was insane.
"A ghost, obviously."
"Then why is she acting like Aphrodite?"
He blinked. "What?"
"She's floating around match-making everyone like some romantic goddess. Why?"
He sighed like this question physically hurt him.
"Because she got separated from her lover too," he explained. "So she wants other people to get what she couldn't."
I narrowed my eyes at the screen.
Disgusting.
Pathetic.
Absolutely not.
If I were in her place and got separated from the love of my life, I would not be helping other couples.
I would be ruining them.
Every single one.
Why should anyone else be happy if I wasn't?
I would become a match breaker, not a matchmaker.
I watched in pure judgment.
Still…
I kept watching.
Not for the love story.
Not for the emotional lessons.
Not for the poetic symbolism.
No.
For the professor.
Raj Aryan.
Because that man was ridiculously handsome.
And when he used to play the violin?
I sat up straighter.
That was not music.
That was a personal attack.
He was way too attractive for a professor.
Too elegant.
Too intense.
Too dramatic.
Too… unfair.
I folded my arms and stared at the screen.
"…He's hot."
Theo choked on his drink.
"What?"
"I said," I repeated, eyes still on the TV, "he's hot."
Theo looked personally offended.
"He's literally a fictional professor."
"And?"
"You need help."
"I need a professor like that in real life."
