'Why aren't they scared?'
Kaela was confused, to say the least.
Even trained soldiers would hesitate when facing a C Rank Titled, let alone an A Rank like her. Yet these men didn't. They continued shooting and advancing as though they hadn't just witnessed someone of vastly superior strength casually walk through their gunfire.
Despite seeing their bullets do absolutely nothing, not one of them turned and ran.
That wasn't normal.
'It means there's something they're protecting in this place, and that they have a trick up their sleeves.'
Kaela slowly cracked her neck, the movement accompanied by a series of quiet pops. A menacing grin spread across her face as she looked over the courtyard.
Whatever they were, she was about to find out.
One of the men screamed.
"Keep firing!"
The rifles opened up again.
Kaela laughed.
This time, there was nothing cheerful about it.
