Ethan stopped trying to overpower the Abyssal Maelwyrm.
It was clear that his strategy, which had worked against the Common Beasts, wasn't enough.
The beast was simply too well-suited to this environment.
Its control over water pressure made approaching it dangerous, and it weakened Spark's flames before they could reach their full potential. He couldn't even fly close to it without the fire that kept him afloat fizzling out.
So Ethan changed his approach.
He stopped attacking whenever he had an opening and started looking for patterns.
"Storm, keep it moving."
The dragonfly hesitantly obeyed.
Lightning rained down from above, each strike spreading through the water and forcing the Maelwyrm to shift its enormous body. The attacks weren't doing much damage, but that wasn't their purpose.
They were controlling its movement.
"Wolfy, left!"
