Night Abyss's Adam's apple bobbed nervously. His dark red, slitted pupils swirled with alarm and self-reproach. Blood seeped from his tightly clenched fists.
"Let go!"
Su An'an frowned and stepped forward. Prying open his hand, she found five bloody holes.
She pushed up his sleeve to reveal an arm covered in a dense network of scratches.
"Are you a masochist?"
Su An'an's eyes suddenly burned, but the anger blazing within them was even stronger. "If you have the energy to hurt yourself, why don't you use it to figure out how to save me?"
"I've been thinking about how to save you every single second."
Night Abyss's whole body trembled violently, his voice as hoarse as sandpaper scraping across his heart.
"Just the thought of you getting hurt makes me want to kill myself."
"I'm fine. You don't have to blame yourself!"
Su An'an wrapped her arms around his waist and stood on her tiptoes to kiss his trembling lips.
"Finding me this quickly was already amazing."
