When Evangeline awoke, the bed beneath her felt soft and familiar.
She frowned instinctively. 'I wonder if Caden Albright and Thorne wiped all the dust off,' was her first thought. 'If they didn't clean it before laying me down, it must be filthy, right?'
She cautiously felt the edge of the bed. It was still damp.
Clearly, someone had frantically wiped down the dust-covered bed.
The corner of Evangeline's mouth twitched. 'It's hard to imagine Thorne and Caden Albright, two such deadly and decisive males, putting on a brave face while clumsily sweeping away dust and tidying up the cave.'
Just then, a slightly hoarse, alluring voice whispered by her ear, "You're awake?"
"If you're awake, get up and have something to eat." The rich aroma of roasted meat filled the air.
Evangeline cautiously lifted her lashes to peek, and her gaze immediately met Caden Albright's.
