Evangeline had no idea that several men had already gone mad, teaming up to begin the search for her.
She was leaning against the edge of the bed, her slender calves resting on Nix's lap. He was half-kneeling on the floor, his long fingers carefully wiping the swamp mud from her snow-white skin.
"What does it mean for The Swarm to pour out of their nest?"
Nix lifted his gaze to Evangeline, his violet eyes full of darkness. "You don't know about The Swarm?"
"I know about The Swarm..." Evangeline frowned slightly. "They're the only race on the Beastman Continent without a Star Pattern, yet they are extremely deadly. But they've always remained dormant in The Sunken Vale, where Norfell and the Triangle Sea meet. They rarely come out."
Nix rose slowly, his long fingertips tracing the line of her thigh, slow and dangerous.
