Helpless, Zoe Sawyer could only stare intently at the scene before her, committing every detail to memory while trying to see if she could pass through again.
But no matter what angle or how much force she used, she couldn't get through.
"Those people almost ruined my fun. You didn't actually think you'd be saved, did you? I've been planning this for a very long time," the killer said, his tone grim yet tinged with a hint of excitement.
He then raised the weapon high and stabbed viciously at his target.
Bright red liquid splattered onto his face and clothes, but he wiped it away nonchalantly with his sleeve.
Once the victim had taken their last breath, the killer pulled out the weapon, wiped it casually on the victim's clothes a few times, and turned to leave.
As the killer left, Zoe was suddenly thrown back from the door.
Heath Hale reached out and steadied her. "What happened? Are you hurt?" he asked with concern.
