The young couple, who had just narrowly escaped death, followed Evan Keller to the red car.
After getting a clear look at the perpetrator's face, the man turned to Evan Keller in confusion. "I don't know him. I've never seen this person before."
"Have you two offended anyone recently? Or, have any of your family or friends offended anyone recently?
Or do you have any debts?" Evan Keller thought for a moment before asking a different line of questions.
The man thought carefully, then shook his head with certainty. "No. My wife and I are both only children. While our families aren't rich, we're comfortably well-off. Our parents all have stable retirement pensions, and we have no debt.
"As for offending people, that's even more impossible. Our elders are all good-tempered and get along well with the neighbors. We rarely get into arguments."
