"Witch Doctor Qiao Xixi, what are you doing here?"
It was Hei Zong.
Qiao Xixi forced herself to remain calm as she turned around.
"I went to the Sangji Witch Doctor's place to get some medicine. I was just about to head back to treat Sunxiao."
Hei Zong's dark pupils were inscrutable, making it impossible to tell if he believed her or not.
"How are Sunxiao's injuries?"
"They're no longer life-threatening."
Hei Zong nodded. "I'll go with you to have a look."
Qiao Xixi glanced toward the secret room, nodded, and left the main city district with Hei Zong.
On the way, Qiao Xixi shot Hei Zong a few strange looks.
He was tall, with legs much longer than hers, yet he took incredibly small steps.
It was as if he was deliberately stalling for time.
Qiao Xixi frowned. 'Could something be happening back with Sunxiao?'
At this thought, Qiao Xixi decided not to waste any more time with him and quickened her pace toward the stone house.
