Humans have been using javelins for longer than bows and arrows; they were the weapons of primitive people fighting wild beasts.
To this day, some tribes in Africa still use javelins to hunt lions and elephants.
Javelins were therefore easy to get the hang of. As the group threw their weapons, several of the Giant Hyenas at the front were pierced, leaving large holes in their bodies. Some of the long spears were even still stuck in them.
Some of the Giant Hyenas fled, but others chose to fight back.
