"What are you doing here?"
Mia Grant frowned.
Her expression changed so fast, Yates Donovan couldn't help but click his tongue.
"Baby, I'm not a big fan of this reaction."
One second, her eyes were lit up at the sight of Hayes Hughes.
The next, her gaze landed on him, and her smile vanished instantly.
"You'll break my heart." His tone was pitiful, but he was sitting on the sofa, chin in his hand, looking at her with a roguish grin.
Mia Grant rolled her eyes at him.
"I did stand guard outside your door all night, you know." He pointed under his eyes. "Look, look! I've even got dark circles to prove it."
Mia stared at him for a few seconds before asking again, "So, why are you here?"
"Aren't you supposed to be in the room next door?"
"I was worried no one would be here to take care of you."
'How is that possible?'
'Wasn't Silas here...?'
