Carla Sinclair's tone was calm, but her words were resolute.
After hearing her, Simon Adler could only describe his current mood as one of utter astonishment.
'Simple-minded... who? Mia Grant?'
'What a joke.'
'That girl has more ulterior motives than a block of Swiss cheese has holes.'
'Is this some kind of big-sister filter?'
"If that's what you want to think... sure." Simon Adler gave her a thumbs-up.
Carla Sinclair said, "I need you to pass on a message for me."
"What message?"
"I hope to acknowledge her as my sister. If she has any concerns, she can talk to me about them. I will do my utmost to overcome any and all obstacles to bring her to my side."
"I can relay those words for you, but I can only repeat them verbatim. I can't try to persuade her."
"If you're looking for an intermediary to smooth things over, I suggest you go to Silas Grant."
