After singing Xing'er to sleep with a lullaby in the Huaiyang dialect, Wanyun left the Sheng family's residence with Lu Jingxing.
Lu Jingxing helped Wanyun onto the horse.
Though it wasn't her first time on a horse, Wanyun was still quite nervous. Sitting in Lu Jingxing's arms, she gripped his arm tightly.
"Husband, slow down."
Lu Jingxing asked, "Are you afraid of riding?"
Wanyun nodded. "I've never learned how to ride, so of course I'm scared. This horse is so tall, I'm afraid I'll fall off."
Holding the reins with one hand, Lu Jingxing tightened his other arm around her waist. "I'll have Hua Yang teach you how to ride in the next few days."
"There will be a polo match in the palace before the Dragon Boat Festival. If you learn from Hua Yang, you can go have some fun on the polo field, too."
Wanyun shook her head repeatedly. "I don't want to play."
Lu Jingxing took her hand and placed it on the reins. "Riding is simple, and polo is even easier. It won't hurt to learn."
