After Renee spoke, the four little cats fell silent again.
"Think it over carefully," Blueberry said earnestly. "What kind of companionship do you prefer? That of your friends, or that of an owner..."
The four little cats had kept each other company for a very, very long time back when they were strays.
The little tabby cat was young and spoke directly. He meowed, "I want an owner... I've never had an owner!"
He'd already experienced having companions. Now, he wanted to experience having an owner.
Of course, that didn't mean he had any intention of abandoning his friends.
The other three cats were a bit older. While they were strays, they had countless times seen other cats held in their owners' arms, treasured like precious jewels.
Every time, they would be deeply envious. 'If only we could have an owner that wonderful one day...' Now, the opportunity was right in front of them.
The orange cat nodded its fluffy head. "In that case... let's hope we meet again someday!"
