Uncle Victor walked over to Addie Sutton and studied her features closely. "But she looks just like my daughter..."
Addie Sutton looked at him, at a loss.
"Honey, did you have your mole removed?" Uncle Victor asked, his expression affectionate.
Addie Sutton pressed her lips together, shook her head, and answered in a low voice, "I've never had a mole removed."
Hearing this, the light in Uncle Victor's eyes dimmed. His expression went blank, and his eyes slowly reddened.
He turned to Jane Conway, his lips trembling. "Jane, she's not our daughter. Then where is our daughter?"
Jane Conway's eyes were red-rimmed, her voice choked with sobs. "I don't know... I don't know."
Uncle Victor wiped her tears away, then raised a hand to wipe his own eyes. "It's okay, Jane. I'll go look again. I'll definitely find our daughter. You wait for me at home."
