"Shake." She held out her right hand to take the Tibetan Mastiff's right front paw. The puppy was a bit confused at first, but it got the hang of it after the third try.
When Riley Perry gave the "Shake" command again, it voluntarily offered its right front paw to take her hand.
The shop owner watched, clucking his tongue in amazement. 'Is it really this easy to teach a dog a command?'
He went to a nearby cage, got a Chihuahua puppy, and held it in his arms. He copied Riley Perry's every move, first petting its head, then giving it a good rub, before placing it on the floor and saying, "Shake." But the little Chihuahua just ran away...
Meanwhile, Riley Perry was already teaching the little Tibetan Mastiff to count.
"One finger, one 'WOOF.' Two fingers, two woofs. WOOF, WOOF. C'mon, bark."
The Mastiff froze for a moment, its doggy eyes sizing up Riley Perry for a good while before it barked, "WOOF, WOOF."
"Five fingers, five barks. WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF."
