"First of all," Sophie Wexler sat up straight, her expression serious, "I want to move into the guest room."
"That's not happening." Almost the instant she finished speaking, the man replied.

Looking up into his steady gaze, Sophie Wexler's voice grew a little quieter. "You agreed to set some ground rules."
"You left before without so much as a word," Cillian Forrest reminded her calmly.
At his words, Sophie Wexler's eyes flickered, a hint of guilt showing.
"Well, that was only because you hid your identity!"
'God only knew what a shock it had been to find out he was the Imperial Marshal.'
Cillian Forrest pressed his lips together but didn't back down.
'If he gave an inch, she would immediately curl up like a frightened quail and hide away.'
