Murphy quietly gazed at Rodrick, who was trembling as he knelt prostrate on the ground, and slowly spoke.
"Do you know why you've fallen into such a state?"
Rodrick lifted his head. Blood and cold sweat dripped from his forehead, his eyes filled with confusion and humiliation.
Murphy continued, "It's because you harbor negative emotions toward me in your heart. Once thoughts like anger, contempt, or resentment arise, they become the soil in which self-rebellion takes root."
"If you didn't want to curse me and held no negative feelings toward me, you wouldn't have met such a fate."
Rodrick was stunned.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found that the words he'd used to curse himself were gone.
His mouth was finally his own again.
He suddenly realized something, and his face instantly flushed crimson.
It was shame.
It was humiliation.
