"Rodrick, are you sure the monster from the Nightmare World is here?"
Mickey fell backward, but the pain of hitting the ground he expected never came.
An invisible force caught him and set him back on his feet.
"That's right, sir." A respectful voice spoke up, tinged with a hint of cautious eagerness to please. "This is where the nightmare monster is located."
The youth's voice sounded again, a contemplative note in his tone. "To think a monster would live in such an ordinary room..."
Hearing them conversing so leisurely, Mickey was overcome with panic.
He had no time to wonder about who these two were, nor could he spare a thought for how they had opened the door he couldn't budge with all his might.
His entire focus was fixed on the mother in front of him.
The mother was slowly closing in.
Slowly, yes, but her twisted face was already right before him.
