The pre-departure briefing was held aboard the Mechas.
Once the Mechas took off, flying in formation one behind the other, Dean Zhu's voice came over the broadcast systems of both.
He was being uncharacteristically humorous.
"This is an experience that could change your lives. Of course, I'm not talking about students who perform poorly getting bad grades and having their lives changed because they can't graduate."
The dean's little joke instantly eased the tense atmosphere inside the cabin.
Many of the students cracked a smile.
"When I say it will change your life, I mean that after this month, you will all suddenly understand that you carry a responsibility on your shoulders."
"You will realize that the mundane things you normally study are in fact sacred. You will gain a true appreciation for life. Many of your upperclassmen from previous years matured quickly after undergoing this same training."
"I believe you all will do the same."
