Erin Lowell paused for a moment. Having been awake for some time, her senses had fully returned. She averted her gaze and changed the subject. "Why haven't you left yet?"
"I was getting ready to, but something stopped me."
Erin had only just woken up. While her eyes were clear enough to appreciate his handsome features, her mind was still groggy. She didn't realize he was setting a trap. "Why?"
"Because..." Zane Jennings lifted their joined hands. "You were just grabbing onto me like this. I couldn't say no to you."
Erin's expression was indifferent, her disbelief obvious. "My apologies. I was out of line."
She didn't offer an explanation, only an apology.
"Don't worry about it." Zane put on a magnanimous air. "If you enjoyed it, I can give you another chance to get fresh with me."
His words made the tips of Erin's ears burn.
She quickly changed the subject, refusing to discuss it further. "Is the cut deep? I'll go bandage it for you."
