Yes, an accident that had exceeded his predictions. Erin Xavier continued, "We're trapped under some rocks. Something's wrong with Zoe. She's unconscious."
Erin Xavier still wasn't sure how to explain the situation.
The unfinished mark... he didn't even know what effect it would have on Zoe Pierce's gland.
'Dammit,' he thought. 'As soon as we're off this blasted planet, I have to get Zoe checked out immediately. What if her uncontrollable gland goes haywire again?'
'It was me this time. Who will it be next time?'
As his thoughts drifted to this, his fingers tightened.
Miles Sherman's voice came through the wireless channel, tinged with a robotic quality. "Unconscious? What happened?"
Erin Xavier looked up at the space around them, still pitch black. "It seems like she remembered being trapped in the mining accident."
"It's a stress reaction."
Miles's voice was quicker on the other end. "Can you break out?"
