Chase Shaw's hand came to rest beside Zoe Pierce's cheek.
The touch of his rough fingers against her soft skin instantly left Zoe speechless. She could only stare at him, stunned.
She was at a complete loss.
Chase's height completely blocked the light, casting a large shadow over her face.
In such an atmosphere, Zoe's heart began to beat faster without her realizing it. She had a feeling that something was about to happen.
'But... this doesn't feel right...'
'Because, right now, it's supposed to be Nathan Lockwood's time... right?'
The Alpha leaned down, his face drawing so close that Zoe could feel his breath on her skin.
Then, as if in slow motion, he whispered her name. "Zoe."
Zoe's hands clenched unconsciously, and her eyelashes fluttered rapidly.
"Chase... you shouldn't..."
His lips captured hers, and something pried her mouth open.
Zoe's body went rigid in an instant, her fingers instinctively clutching the fabric of Chase's shirt.
