Lu Xize kissed Chu Yao's forehead again, then gently pulled back the covers and lay down beside her.
He switched off the bedroom light, plunging the room into darkness. But with his sight gone, his hearing seemed to sharpen. Chu Yao's breathing beside him, though faint, sounded impossibly clear to his ears.
The wicked fire he had just managed to suppress flared up again with a WHOOSH. Lu Xize's Adam's apple bobbed. He was about to inch toward the edge of the bed when the person beside him suddenly stirred, her head dropping to rest her forehead directly against his arm.
Due to the alcohol, Chu Yao's body was a little hot. Lu Xize could clearly feel the warmth radiating from her forehead.
