After having lunch with Yusuf and Zehra,Selim had been studying untill evening.He had been writing words and phrases in Ottoman Turkish using the entire Arabic alphabet.He had been looking forward to finish this and write letters in Georgian.He had been pondering what to write in his letters for a long time and finally came up with these:
"My dear mum,I couldn't even say farewell to you.But,how would I know if one day I would be separated from you all.I especially miss my twin brothers.How are they?Do they ask you or dad about me?Or did you erase my existence from your memories?I wonder,how are you doing right now...Well,if you ask about my wellbeing,I have found a new family.They treat me pretty well.Probably,because they couldn't have son or daughter of their own.One of them is half Georgian and half Greek.The woman who treats me like her own son is Greek.Both of them remember their past and where they came from.They encourage me to never forget my real identity.And I will never forget who I am.No matter what,I will not erase you,my real family from my memories.I miss all of you terribly!I hope,one day,when I will become the ruler of one of the provinces of the Ottoman empire,I will meet you again."
Selim felt sorrow inside him and tears fell on the paper on which he was writing his letter.Zehra noticed this and wiped his tears with her hands.Then,she caressed him on his left cheek.
-It seems,you are in a bad mood,why?
-Read my letter to my family.
Selim passed his letter to Zehra.She read it carefully.
-Now,I see why you are like this.All these years,I and Yusuf have been like you,too.After all,we were abducted from our native lands and brought here by force.No wonder,you miss them.Let's focus on something else,okay?

-Allow me to teach you Greek alphabet.
-Ah,I almost forgot.Teach me,mother!
Zehra wrote all the letters on several sheets of paper.There were 24 letters in total.

Selim had been writing 12 big and 12 little letters for an hour.Then,Zehra tested him by telling each letters name aloud.Selim wrote all the letters he heard from Zehra.After memorizing them,Selim went to bed with his letter.Before lying down on the bed,he read it again and put it under his pillow.Soon,he fell asleep.
