Sora's POV
"And now…" he exhaled, almost defeated, "I'm trapped in my own heart."
Something in my chest ached.
"I'm sorry," he said suddenly. "For doubting you."
I shook my head slightly, but he continued.
"I'm only human," he said. "But now… I don't doubt you anymore."
His eyes softened.
"I'll protect you. While you wait for the will's maturity… I'll stay by your side."
My breath caught.
"So please," he said, his voice dropping, almost pleading now, "let me stay."
I closed my eyes for a second.
Because this—
This was everything I didn't want.
And everything I wanted.
At the same time.
"I've been thinking about it too," I admitted quietly.
When I opened my eyes, he was still looking at me like nothing else mattered.
"I can feel that you're telling the truth," I said. "I know you are."
That much, I couldn't deny anymore.
"But I've been hurt too many times," I continued, my voice tightening. "Too many people broke my trust."
