"Huh?"
Lena muttered, her brows furrowing in consternation as she gulped audibly.
She hadn't thought this far. Or more specifically, she just hadn't anticipated this outcome.
Everything she had ever wanted in life, she had acquired. She thought this would be the same.
But it didn't seem that way. Feeling the gazes falling onto her, the pressure amplified as beads of sweat dripped down her face. Her mouth opened and closed, struggling to find the right words before finally sputtering,
"Y-you have to."
"Do I?" Ulric muttered, his brows arching in surprise, remembering the pain she had caused the old host when she had annulled the marriage.
Now that he looked back, it wouldn't be out of the question to say she was the main cause he had lost his will to live. And now she wanted to step back into his life as if nothing had happened.
It seemed she was a lot less smart than the old host had given her credit for, or just straight-out delusional.
