Chapter 74 - Chapter 74- The test of shadows

The training grounds of the Red Moon Pack were alive with tension. The modernized courtyard gleamed under the morning sun, sleek buildings casting long shadows as Hazel prepared for her next challenge.

Today was no ordinary training session. Ryan had arranged a simulated rogue attack, using the pack's elite warriors to test Hazel's offensive and defensive abilities under pressure.

"Remember," Ryan's voice cut through the air, low and commanding, "you are not just defending yourself. You are leading. Protect the pack, strike decisively, and control the battlefield."

Hazel nodded, her pulse racing. The Devourer inside her throbbed in anticipation, and her Luna spirit hummed, guiding her instincts.

The "rogues" launched their assault, fast and coordinated. Nick and Bella took positions to flank, Liam and Klara controlled the barriers, and Sera used psychic distortions to disorient the attackers.

Hazel's eyes glowed faintly as she stepped forward, her hands raised. Shadows bent to her will, forming whips and blades that lashed out at the incoming warriors. Each strike was precise, calculated, and deadly.

Even in training, Ryan's warriors fell in awe at her speed and control. The Devourer energy enhanced her reflexes, allowing her to anticipate the enemy's moves before they even struck.

Ralph, Blade, and Venom stirred in Ryan, sensing the surge of power from Hazel. Ryan's aura flared around her like a protective storm, letting her know he was always there—but never interfering unnecessarily.

From the edge of the grounds, Mila's eyes burned with jealousy. Every swing, every strike, every shadow controlled by Hazel drew Ryan's attention closer to his mate. Mila clenched her fists, unwilling to interfere yet, but her envy simmered dangerously.

Gloria watched silently, gently holding Hazel's hand when she faltered for a brief second. "Focus, my daughter. You have the strength, and you have the heart," she whispered.

Hazel's hands pulsed with energy as she moved through the simulated battlefield. She pulled injured pack members to safety, shielded allies with her Luna aura, and unleashed controlled bursts of Devourer energy to incapacitate the attackers.

By the end of the exercise, not a single "rogue" had breached the perimeter. Hazel's control, precision, and judgment had kept the entire pack safe.

Ryan stepped forward, dark eyes glinting with pride and possession. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You've surpassed my expectations… and you've only just begun."

Hazel's heart raced, her body trembling slightly from the exertion. "I… I did it?" she asked, awe in her voice.

Ryan's lips curved into a rare, possessive smile. "Yes, and I'm the only one who gets to see just how deadly you can be."

Mila's glare sharpened. Even as the pack celebrated Hazel's success, she stayed in the shadows, calculating her next move. Every victory Hazel had, every step closer she took to mastering her powers, drew Ryan further into her orbit.

Hazel, unaware of the brewing jealousy, turned to Ryan. "Thank you… for trusting me."

Ryan's hand brushed hers, a subtle claim. "Trust goes both ways, mate. You've earned it… and so much more."

The Red Moon Pack stood silent in admiration. The girl they once saw as fragile had transformed into a powerful force, the Devourer at her command, the Luna guiding her spirit—and beside her, the Alpha who would protect, dominate, and claim her fully.

The test was over, but the game had only begun.
